If I’m not mistaken I believe that nephrite jade has quite a colorful history, jadeite Jade however isn’t as well known still has some significant history since it was discovered around the 1600s or the 1700s I’m not entirely sure, jadeite Jade is the most recent of the jades I think

In the vedas jade is said to be the fat of a giant that was slain. Interesting they also say it is found in the land of the yavanas (e asiatics).

I tell strangers that my jade is green aventurine from amazon. Most think it's plastic or glass and i spent $25 for them. Ill never tell them that i can buy a very expensive exotic sports car if i sell them. The only two bad things about this jade, its very heavy on my wrist and makes that arm very cold. Like this video.

Hi. Yes jade can be expensive but it depends on variant (nephrite vs jadeite) and quality. So jadeite that is natural, untreated, but more opaque, mottled, and more “rock looking” can be affordable. But jadeite that us also naturally, untreated, but translucent, gummy, vivid in color especially green, smooth texture, can go for thousands and thousands to millions. So jadeite can be affordable to expensive. All are gorgeous in my opinion. Depends on the quality factors :-)
