This man had 11 points in 5 minutes. He was going to off on this team. Also, I’m digging the 90’s colors on the coaching staff shirts. Maybe a hint at classic jerseys coming back
If things pan out well, Idk if either player will be as individually dominant as KD or Russ, but there are some similarities in what they could bring to the game as a duo. Cade being the bigger more technically skilled all around wing scorer and Ivey being the smaller more athletic and exciting, slashing guard. I haven't felt this level of promise in the franchise since the year the Pistons got Chauncey, Rip, and Tey.
Pistons fan’s watch out!!! We might have the next Steph and Clay tandem in our backyard in a couple years and I’m here for it! Deeeeeetrrroooooiiiiiitttttttttt Bassketballllllllllll!!!!!
As a pistons fan I wanted Benedict Mac at first but I'm good now 😆.Ivey shooting scared me at first but he can do a lot of things I didn't know.....we got us a DWade/Morant type upside player while y'all got a Ray Allen/Jason Richardson type upside player so everything good on both ends
Rose with a decent 3 point shot. Dwade. Better prime Oladipo. Ja Morant. John Wall. Westbrook. Dude is ridiculously good and almost impossible to guard.
There will never be another Drose. The way dude Contorted his body in the air was straight poetry in motion. Even today he still has elite finishing even without the high flying dunks. This dude is closer to a Westbrook/Wade mold
@@rellfree6400 Slow down there. Everyone was saying Cunningham was shoe in for ROTY before he even played in a NBA game, he was great but wasn't ROTY. Wait until you see him play a game or two before declaring he's going to beat all of the other contenders
@@rayanbeane3468 ya exactly, you're making my point for me. Who knows what anyones season will look like, gelling with the team, playing against the best in the world for the first time, injures , etc...
@@HakeemTheDream616 eventually we're going big, guys gonna develop anyways. We'll see where we go next season, but the season after will be business for sure
Love his game. Love cades game even more. Love saddiq Bey and Jalen duren too. Shittt I’m not even a pistons fan but damn they got a nice squad. Can’t forget about beef stew either he’s a dawg and now he’s shooting 3’s!! Ivey scares me though he plays so fast and hard I think he’s gonna have injury problems. Not even trying to be funny or weird just genuinely concerned for him. Hope I’m wrong. If he stays healthy man he’s gonna be a star
I know 😞.. it wasn’t just pistons fans.. the whole NBA fan community was excited to watch this kid ball.. think about it.. who’s the most entertaining NBA player? Ja!! And this kid reeks of him.. he was the #1 draw to this summer league and Bozo fucked it up 🤦♂️
Takes more than 2 great guards to have a dynasty. However, the chemistry of the entire team is coming together as general manager Troy Weaver continues to work his magic.
It'll take a couple of championships and quite a few years to find out. Remember Isaiah Thomas and Joe Dumars? Those two hall of famers are going to be tough to beat, but it certainly can happen. Hopefully it will happen.
@@gabeagca2758 if Stewart isn't consistently hitting 3s....his time getting squeezed. Duren brings a lot more defensively in addition to being more effective on offense
Hope Jaden fully recovers. Dude was killing it in the small sample size we got. Potential Nicknames for Jaden Ivey: "The Blade"- The guy cuts through everything. Whether it is through traffic or one of those bullet passes to an open teammate, Jaden is a killer "Chop Chop"- Cantonese-English phrase for quickly and/or hurry. Obvious reference to Jaden's tremendous speed but also alludes to his time practicing Karate "The Karate Kid"- Again, reference to Jaden's Karate background (Funny how another Jaden did Karate). Furthermore, can allude to Jaden's acrobatic, athletic style "Crank"- Just like that Jason Statham film, it is all pedal to the metal for Jaden. Full gear, adrenaline fueled Basketball
I hated to see Ivey go down as it means he’s probably missing the rest of summer league also a little disappointed they didn’t use duren as much as I would’ve liked. There was many times he was in a decent/good position and he wouldn’t get the ball. I just want to see more of him and his athleticism.
The Piston's are being very careful with their new born "Baby Bad Boyz"!...Duren...Ivey...Hayes...Stewart...Bey...Cunningham...Livers...Lee & Co....No need to prove anything in Summer League or when its time for preseason wins...The point of being better comes when the season begins!!!...Healthy...Able...Committed...Driven....Ready...Humble...but hungry to show the entire world..."The Baby Bad Boyz" are in town and are out to "Shock" the world!!!!...Remember the Fab 5 of Michigan?!...Watch the Pistons version of the "Bad Boyz pt. II"...(Featuring: Ivey, Cunningham, Hayes, Bey & Duren)...leading the way!!!...NBA...be very afraid!....👍💪👊
Ankle injury in worthless Summer League is 'poison ivy' to rookies. Cade did his ankle last season, then missed his first 20 3-point attempts, distorting 32% total 3-pt FGM. His shooting improved continuously but failed to win ROTY + contract bonus.
Kings tried to convince us to trade up. We didn't take the bait. Weaver called their bluff. They tried like hell to get us to trade up to #4. With us calling their bluff, they were stuck. If they trade down lower than 5, they lose Murray. However, we were REALLY fortunate the King's were picking ahead of us. Any other lottery team outside of the top 3 is taking Ivey at #4. Weaver stood his ground. And honestly...he should of because Murray at #5 would have been a great pick too.
Great skills seeing him for the first time, I worry this is only the begining of his career and this might happen again unintentionally of course. JI should not take risk like that and needs to work on his foot work, or end up being like DRose. ie injury prone.
Exactly my thoughts. He’s got that drose burst too. He plays so fast and he’s not all that big. All it takes is one bad drive against a big man or one wrong step. Love his game though I pray he stays healthy
@@mystic2k551 Mhm, how can he block the shot from far away so he gonna have to step forward and yeah he stepped on the foot where who’s fault it is since JI’s the one who stepped on the foot
I blame the coach. Once he drop dbl digits that fast he's shown you enough. Get the others involved to see what they can do. Injury ain't that bad but it might nag him for weeks or much longer. Plus the overall build up of nicks and dings. This one was unnecessary. Guys out there dropping 20pt games in summer league rarely put on during the season. The top shottas always quiet in the summer.
f this guy who at both games Ivey played was yelling "OVER RATED" 5:04 you can hear it. must be a salty Kings fan... good god and i thought Yankee fans were insufferable.
Ivey sort of injured himself. He fishes with his legs a lot.. at least learn to not put any weight on feet until they are securely on court. Anyway Ivey looked like an All-Star decided to goof on the SL in the few minutes he played. Gonna be unstoppable in NBA space
Gonna say this now Cade Ivey and S.B aren’t gonna work together. Too many young ball dominate players that are still growing mentally in the game. It took Tatum and Brown all the way till now to figure it out. But BOSTON is a smart organization that didn’t rush things… idk if the pistons are the same.
Lol Dwayne Casey and Troy Weaver are the epitome of not rushing things. These players will grow together seamlessly. Cade is ice Ivey is fire. Bey has worked on his inside game a lot and is already a threat from the perimeter. This will be like prime OKC but with no egos
@@sdffcfg no where near it individually. I think they have the potential to have a unit as talented and probably more successful. I think Weaver is molding this team just as he did with that OKC team
