So it's been a while since I brought you a watch video. Today it's Natasha's new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo Face small seconds. It's a manual movement in stainless steel, it has a second time-zone, 24-hour display and 42 hours power reserve. Pretty cool. We were lucky enough to purchase this watch at the JLC boutique in Dubai. It's beautiful and my wife Natasha loves it.
I know there is always going to be the AP, Patek and Rolex hype but there are so many other great watches to buy that are available at retail.

She popped that thing off like she was crack opening a beer. You’re supposed to push it from the side of the watch case towards the side of the watch the crown is facing, then flip it, lay it flat and slide it back into place.. popping the watch off the mechanism like that is going to break it very soon.

Unfortunately this was how the manager at an JLC boutique in the Middle East showed us how to do it. A visit to JLC boutique in Kuala Lumpur soon after we were shown the correct way. The assistant couldn’t believe that the boutique gave us incorrect instructions. Not only that they had also incorrectly fitted the buckle to the strap. Not great. I have been meaning to do a video about it but just have no time.

@@MichaelBath so you’re telling me that the manager at the JLC boutique, not an AD that has multiple watch brands, the actual JLC boutique where the only watch brand sold is JLC. You’re telling me that a manager there incorrectly showed you guys this hack of a method for engaging the flipping of the case on their most celebrated and recognized timepiece?…. Okay…

The recommended method of flipping the face is to push the case sideways gently, and to slide the case back to the secured position. The pull and push method may be too violent for the watch. It could potentially cause case and crown damages. I Learned by the 550 pounds maintenance fee of mine.

Definitely. I see so many people do it this way. They should tell you in the dealership not to do it.

@@simonj5615 yes, the thing is that some dealers do it the wrong way as well. JLC makes so many watches with complications, so I think They should have their own tutorial videos on how and how not to operate their watches.

Way to go, Michael! This watch is in my list also. I want the Cartier Tank Must XL, but the Reverso is a finer watch.

Congratulations on a beautiful watch. I have this watch and it’s incredible- Strapsco also do quick release “classic suede” straps that are… addictively cheap! I ended up getting every colour and they make it a lot easier to wear casually in the summer. (Powder blue, bright red, navy orange etc). It’s 19mm if you have the medium duoface and due to the straight lugs any straps fit, I also got a beads of rice bracelet from Geckota that looks very similar to the JLC Reverso bracelet.

Beautiful looking watch and currently trying to source one within the next week. BTW, is the crown still staying put? I just noticed how much pressure she was placing on it when trying to flip it. Instead of pulling on the crown push the case sideways to disengage and then once flipped you can push it (slide it) back into position.

Ahh! Don't keep snapping the face in from the top. Slide it in from the side. You will ruin it that way.

@@MichaelBath Hi Michael. I used to have a Grande date but not any more (I miss it!). I went to do this in a dealership in Las Vegas with a Squadra some years ago and was told off immediately.

@@MichaelBath OR you just didn’t pay enough attention when your salesperson were showing you the proper way to perform a complete flip of the Reverso 🤔 Either way, reeducate yourself on the right way to flip so you don’t prematurely ruin this beautiful masterpiece!
