Jagex didn't sell themselves for $1B Tasty. The previous owner of Jagex (Carlyle) sold it for $1B. Jagex sees none of that money. Not saying there isn't a customer service problem, but using the sale of the brand as proof that they have the money to fix the CS issues is silly. The new owner needs to invest in the CS issue, and like you said, they already spent $1B on buying Jagex.

He was being sarcastic. Jagex is just a shell company within a company. The new owners could still continue to let jagex run the show(profitable so don't fix it) or implement management change. What company wants to lose profit for more employees

It's hilarious that they even brought up a count because in over 50 cases now that I've been involved in since 2017 the bans weren't lifted for years before an actual jmod could take a look, so their numbers are meaningless as they don't know if it's false in the first place. This just means 38 false bans were bans they actually got notified about, I wouldn't be surprised if the actual number is in the thousands.

The false bans are crazy. But there might be ridiculous solution to the problem - Jagex doesn't want to spend resources for support to go all the ban appeals as most of them are legit and people are just trying to get their accounts back (that they broke rules on). However, Jagex could implement a "personal assistance with ban appeal" where a player could make a deposit of let's say 20$ to have the ban looked into by a real person. if the ban is false positive, then the player gets back the 20$ + additional 6 months of membership for the trouble that Jagex put them in. This way the Jagex would get up front payment for the time to pay employees to look into the false ban problem without having to spend any resources. The people who have put 100s of hours into their account and know that they have not broken any rules will probably be glad to pay the 20$ deposit to have their review looked into by a real person and to look in to it carefully not just quickly look at the issue. Additionally this would filter out the people who are saying that they did nothing wrong and got banned for nothing, as they probably would not throw 20$ down the drain if they knew they actually broke the rules. So, while ridiculous, this might be a solution to the fake ban problem. at least to some extent.

ridiculous, why should we have to pay more for them to do what they should have done in the first place, its like going to a bagger in winn dixie and saying "well?! are you going to help me out with my order?!" when said bagger is standing around doing nothing, and hearing said bagger say "well, i can, for 10 bucks" when they already get a little more than minimum wage. they are already paid to do a job, tips are nice, i know i was a bagger for winn dixie, i got tips, LOTS of them, but i didnt hold out of doing a job just to get more, and that is what your idea amounts to, they should show some pride in their work and do it right, or get out of the game, no pun intended.

2 months unsubscribed x7 and counting, been dealing with false bans since years now and even resolved many such cases through Mod Trident, but obviously lost that contact point because of the drama. Arguably he was told to shut up about the false bans before the whole drama situation though, as he went radiosilent half a year prior to the public drama. Now the most recent helpful jmod has gone radiosilent the same, and for some reason false bans are more rampant than ever.

Jagex false banned my def pure account during a 2 year break from the game. The single infraction was the same exact one Faux got except it already had a denied appeal. Legit account was banned a year and a half after I ended membership and was focusing on other life things. Jagex having absolutely zero customer support is a huge reason the community is growing smaller and smaller by the year.

I got banned for RWT just by helping someone out at the GE because he was at his buy limit on the new darts with the 100 cap. So i bought him the cap as well and cost me 5k gp, and i gave it to him, and then I lost 73M gp because he RWT beforehand 🤔 and a Jmod told me they don't really care if it was a false ban or not.

I have been saying it for years, the OSRS team adjusts the RNG on players (like for leagues) for streamers who bring more players to the game. While reducing the RNG of players that disagree with certain viewpoints. for example: Tasty is a popular streamer, lets say the base drop rate is 1/3k or 1.00. his adjusted RNG by the OSRS team gives him 1/2.5k or 1.25. now lets say someone disagrees with the OSRS team, the RNG of that player may be reduced from 1.00 to 0.75 or 1/3.5k base chance instead.

Random person on Twitter: my account was banned and all I did was use runelite. Meanwhile Faux: unbanned within minutes of tweeting. Also, remember when Coxie got caught cheating and they slapped him on the wrist but ban people permanently with zero evidence. Streamer favoritism is a real thing and it’s bull shit. Makes me not want to play the game so I don’t have to give my money to this company anymore. I shouldn’t be treated any differently as a player. If they are banned then they have to go through the same process as everyone else does.

& here I am a month later trying to be seen because my pure cooking alt was banned per player mod comment the day it hit 50m cook exp. While afk cooking with chat settings off listening for the runelite ding to watch one piece at same time. They stated my account was monitored closely for awhile and I used 3rd party software.... I feel a pmod assumed I was a bot wrongly banning me.

F jagex and content creatures for "false bans" I caught a false ban in January. Got logged out and couldn't log back in. Banned for botting. I was at the gauntlet attempting another cg run. Gauntlet KC 34. CG 0 with about 15 failed attempts.. temp banned and appeal was denied. Log back in to find a bot with 13k KC at CG

I know I'll sound like a boot licker, but I'd hardly call what happens when osrs streamers are banned and quickly unbanned "favouritism", and instead I'd call it the result of a high vis individual using that high visibility to deal with a problem. If people are truly being false banned and losing their appeals where streamers are correctly banned but using their platform to get unbanned when they shouldn't, well that's favouritism, and I don't think that's what's happening on a measurable scale. I'm not denying false bans, it's happened loads, I just wish there was a better method of appealing to a person rather than hoping the automated system sorts it out. A method that isn't getting a 1k+ upvoted post on reddit....
