I was hooked a few days ago, I bought the game and had an over watch up, i killed one guy and two others ran into the over watch and were both killed with a shotgun blast, instant hooked. LOVE this game, can't believe I just found it 4 days ago.
#3 Suppressors give you a better crit chance, silencers are useful if you shoot standing close to enemy, and they are dirt cheap. I would not say useless. #25 You can't buy medicine, but in Fleatown market you can buy a med kit (for 1000$ if I remember correctly) and you can salvage it for meds. Very good and useful video, I would love to have such a video when I was starting my first game. Good job. 👍
You both are right! And the silencers are more surprise that you keep your stealth without them if you manage silent kill enemy! Surprise mechanics that no other game allows :D
TY so much for flagging the “always show cover shields” toggle! Drove me nuts that I had to guess what counted as cover when I was setting up ambushes.
To be honest - didn't realize there was such a thing myself until late in the game where after 1 crash all settings had reset, so I went there again and now read through carefully :D Another annoying (maybe just for me) is the action bar hiding while not in combat - it is useful to see what options (skills, weapons, etc) you have for the merc you are running around with!
about red "broken shields" - that means there is a cover, however we need to switch to crouch / prone in order to use it. great video, learned new things, thanks.
it's a different one: flanked icon is shown on the badge over the head, potential cover's red shield is on the battlefield terrain itself around our cursor
silencers are important. multiple attacks against same enemy increase crit chance. but the main reason is, even if half your team is detected, a hidden merc with a silencer still does stealth skills
Destroyable structures is one of those gonzo elements that made JA2 combat so interesting. They did an amazing job with it in JA3. JABIA had very limited structure demolitions, one of the things I found frustrating about the design choices in that incarnation of the franchise.
The special scrap from dismantling can give you chips sometimes, too. Livewire is the best mechanic for the low-end game and I believe scrapping weapons with modifications that require a chip sometimes results in getting a chip.
If you aren't playing the character max training game, the magazines are handy for getting a merc with, say, 69 points in a primary stat to 70 to enable the basic perks for a given stat. Same for stats at 79, or 89. Really handy for weaker characters like Kalyna.
Understandable but I would still advise against that :D Instead from full team you should have at least 1 guy that has 70+, 80+ ratings and you can just use 'Train Mercs" and get that +1 in no time. Additional bonus? While teaching that one merc, you put all up for training and get +1-6 points to everyone ;)
New to the game. Some help pls. I feel my inventory is full very quickly and like mercs cant carry much. Is there a way to manage better all items instead carrying all. Or can i just leave in some stash or designed place all what i dont need? TIA.
Welcome aboard! Yes, absolutely - you can drop them anywhere, but I would advise to do that on some strategic location like a dock or somewhere near hospital and/or city! F13 was my choice as it's a bottleneck from right side of map to the left side. But aim there only mid to late game, no point of rushing there at the start. K9 or D11 is a nice spots - D8 has a hospital for recoveries.
Great video, thanks! I've been wondering - is there any benefit to training fewer people at once? Like would someone get more skill points per training if it's just a one-on-one lesson? Or should you always be teaching a "full classroom"?
Thank you! As per my testing it seems only teacher skill point difference to learner skill point difference and not the count of students, so not really no benefit. I push everyone to learn even if they have 1 point missing :D
Yes, but actually no. Few things - first off, next patch will address it and easy and medium difficulties will NEVER(!) run out, but reduce to 50 and 20% of total income respectively. Besides that - there is a trick you can pull off: even when mines are depleted, you can 'hand them over' to enemies (allow them to be recaptured and then they will still product diamond carriers from there :D So in a sense, this is unlimited money already. Combine that with my tip (and video) how to gather 6 mercenaries team that all work for free and..voila! Money is not even a concern at slightest ;) Thank you for the comment and kind words!
Hmm..this is a nice tip! I have almost never player around with different ammo types, because the amount is so low it always feel like wasting..where I end up finishing the game with full bags of them :D
@@MLMariss totally worth it for 5.56 and 7.62 nato. Only the towns with the hammer/screwdriver icon allow crafting operation for ammo though, but I have literally thousands of all bullet types I use by the time I secure the middle island on my play throughs. And, since i am pretty much all stealth, I use AP exclusively in my Aug on my custom merc and on Fox and Mouse (my sneak snipers) Gotta use up all that gun powder and scrap!
If you find the AI combat too easy, you could challenge yourself with the Tactical AI Project mod that makes enemies more intelligent and sneaky. I would love to watch someone play it on nightmare mode.
That's a great question! Because Larry is cured! When you hire him he is not in his best shape, but if you go to H12 sector where Sanatorium is located, you can start an operation to cure him! That boosts the stats and also removes the helmet while doing that!
Can't agree with the silencers are useless statement. While positioning will allow you to do kills without alerting the enemy in some cases, in many cases this is entirely not the case because free positioning is not an option (Diamond Red is a great example, where silence is key to keeping all 10 workers alive). Plus suppressors provide a crit bonus, which is always useful.
No, no - don't get me wrong, it's nice to have them! BUT the surprise for me was that even without them - IF the silent kill is secured the shooter is left in the stealth! Even more - IF the fight has broken out (enemy is looking for you/running your direction) there is no difference if they will hear shots or not, while you play stealthy killer mode - nothing will change! An the crits..yea - if and as you can/will put them all down with headshots, crit is really needed for Very Strong only (but not necessary - with the Gold Fever even they die without crit!) That was my main..surprise and reveal around silencers :)
@@MLMariss It's fine bro. I also find it difficult to find the right words to convey what I want to say sometimes since English is also not my first language. Anyway, it was a good video. I learned a lot. Thanks!
Oh, damn, remember to scrap all the unnecessary med items for extra medication! Any and ever place with Hospital or any kind of doctor will do! Doctors and some hospitals require some quests or dialog choices before they agree to heal you. Once such hospital/doctor is found and unlocked - from map view there will be operation you can commence paying money and getting your team back to full health! I hope that helps, can't remember precise locations from the top of my head.
In case you have missed - in the map view in right bottom corner you can select 'Buildings' option and it will show you available hospitals (that you know of and where you can heal). And here are their locations: D8, H12 (tough fight there to get them) and L18! But there are some other situational places, like F13 until doctor is there and J18 if the old witch is left alive. I hope this helps, happy hunting!
was also a lot easier to hex edit the save file. with this game you can't edit the money with cheat engine because the amount is changing real time every second when you have mines operating.
