One of the most interesting uses of the afterburning variant is in the Mitsubishi T-2 trainer, which is one of only a few jet trainer aircraft with afterburning engines.
Knowing whats been happening to that engine prior to it being sold by the RAF, I'd be standing a lot, lot further back from it than you guys are!!! That said, credit for getting it running.
That 'Rumble' as the Adour starts up would come through your feet when doing see-offs!! - Also used to ground run Jags during my time 1974-1979 (RAF) and 1982-1985 (Oman). I was a 'Sooty'. My 'Forte' was N1/N2 Tank changes - must of done 'hundreds' during my time. Couldn't get in there now!!
lol all i could think about was those straps are probably rated for what 150degrees c and probably nowhere near the amount of load they were under hahaha but man that ffing awesome!!!
Looks Like a very dodgy set up, you need to mount this engine by the main thrust mount, not the lugs on the side of the Intermediate case, they are meant for transportation only.
