A full grown black caiman at 15 feet long and 1,000 pounds in weight cannot be bested by anything in the amazon, including any and all jaguars. Big full grown black caimans are the kings of their domains.

The most interesting part about this cat vs caiman interaction is how the cat ( terrestrial animal) caught this aquatic animal and took it back into the water with complete confidence of its physical dominance .

The caimen may have already been dead, or at least paralyzed. The Jaguar bit right into the back of the head; it either punched through the back of the skull or crushed the vertebrae at the base, either way the caiman's not going to put up any more of a fight.

A croc twice its size, no less. Caimans grow up to 12ft long, as was explained. Jaguars are generally only 5'5-6ft long (maybe minus the tail).

The Caiman was already dead by the time the jaguar pulls it into the water. Their biteforce is unmatched by almost all of Mammalia, enough to crush through skull and bone and pierce the brain, often times severing the spinal column.

I don’t know what I’m more impressed by in that hunt: * That it wasn’t scared to swim in an Amazon river full of other predators. * That it caused an apex predator to immediately run for its life without it looking back. * That the jaguar hunts caiman like any other prey. * That it even eats reptiles to begin with. * That it caused it to stop moving so quickly. * That it could so easily carry it on land and sea.

Wild video. Not only does it ambush and ambush predator exactly as the caiman would have done, but it takes it back into the water where you would think a caiman would stand a better chance at fighting back. Jaguar is totally in control.

I never knew the Jaguar 🐆 was so versatile like this! Swimming hundreds of yards to get to paradise 🏝 and diving and hunting food while diving. You don’t hear cats doing that too often.

The Jaguar have been seen in the South-western USA and all throughout Central and South America. Their only rival big cat is the Puma or Mountain Lion/Cougar. The Jaguar looks like it could overpower the Puma and possibly would win in a face off.

That's amazing. I know jaguars regularly hunt tapirs, capybaras and other large herbivorous/omnivorous animals. When their regular prey isn't available, they often kill caimen and anacondas. Capybaras are fast and sometimes escape. It's easier for a jaguar to catch a caimen.

I’ve been watching a ton of stuff on big cats since watching the Tiger King documentary on Netflix and I must say: Leopards/jaguars are incredible animals. They can steal prey and hide from lions by climbing trees. They can fish by either catching fish or attacking and killing caiman like this. They’re incredibly patient. Their ability to camouflage is unmatched. They wait for cheetah to take down prey and then one single leopard will scare 3 cheetah away and take the kill. They can swim. Just an insane example of how amazing nature is.

Leopards are incredible at adapting to their surroundings, making them great survivors. I never watched that Tiger King stuff, but I've always loved big cats!

Jags and Leopard are two different animal. Jags is bigger more powerful of those two, the apex predator high echelon of the rain forest. Animal with the size 3/4 of tigers with stronger bite force and highly adaptive killing machine

John Alexander, I have owned (2) Jaguar Cars, in the past, at different times. The Cars were Beautiful, and received a lot of Compliments. However, they were ALWAYS breaking down, and in the Shop for repairs!!!!!😂 I was constantly going back, and forth, to the Repair Shops!!!😏 Once, I got rid of BOTH Jaguars, my life became LESS Stressful, and I have been HAPPY ever since!!!😆 But, I still LOVE Jaguar Cars, the Jaguar Big Cat, and the NFL Pro Football Team, the Jacksonville Jaguars!😍

Can’t believe it took the caiman back into the water after he caught him . You know in the water those caimans are very strong 💪. How brave is the Jaguar . Lions are no match for bravery.
