Before we can try to start the car for the first time in over half a century, I need to get an exhaust system on it! And in this video I FINALLY get the exhaust problem solved.
This E-Type is the ONLY E-Type I have ever personally seen that still had its original exhaust system intact, and I was determined to save as much of it as I possibly could!
There is alot of detail in this video - maybe too much - as I started on the exhaust in the Fall of 2022, but a combination of getting very busy and it being a bigger job than I had planned on, led me to put the whole exhaust project aside for over a year... So I kind of get going in this video, only to stop and then restart.
But once I finally did get going on it again, I made good progress and I think the end result turned out very well.
So if you ever wanted to see some excruciating detail on an E-Type's original exhaust - here its is! Enjoy! :-)

Gotta say I always look forward to your video's informative and well presented,, and the voice of a calm doctor :) Remember Sir William would use what was at hand and waste nothing hence the odd bolts.

The harsh realization that not everything can be saved; true conservation is impossible beyond static display. The master craftsman takes a stroke across mona lisa: it's as good as it gets, but still looks out of place.

Hi Chuck, Another superb informative video ensuring all these small details are not lost in the passing of time. Can you help? Are the lugs in the sides of the middle silencer assembly at the same width appart, or are the rear pair closer together to allow for the converging floor rail box sections? I have just bought a supposedly 'as original' mild steel system from Jaguar Classic and these lugs are the same width? I feel sure they should be slightly closer together at the rear, unless the rubber mounts are different thicknesses to allow for the converging floor rails? Any help very much appreciated. makes sense on aftermarket exhaust brackets being incorrect due to shipping and handling in the warehouse , when we used to get bell exhaust systems we would re-package them as everything would be bent and dented
