Very informative video and I am green with envy over your F type. Sorry to be a pain, but your costs are not right. You only included tax and insurance for one year, not the whole life. Cheers
Hi Peter, thanks for the comment. You are entirely correct and thanks for highlighting - totally my mistake. I'm glad you found it somewhat useful. Happy driving
Great video. Came across it by chance and very happy that I did. I am looking to pick one of these in the next month or so. The deprecation that you mentioned is making me want to delay the purchase as currently there is hardly any deprecation on approved used cars.
Great informative video with accurate information and figures. Really like your delivery style. Too many you tubers are shouty like ads on tv and I find that very wearing but not you. Great job and very professional.
Had a similar issue with door lock in the same side. Dealer sorted it out didn’t put the clips back in properly and broke some… at least I didn’t have to pay for the half job. Lovely car with only 2 issues really. 2l engine is too weak for it and a very sporty suspension makes for a hard ride. Which again is pointless with the 2l engine which lags a lot. Also lost 10k in the last 4 months due to depreciation
Sadly the Ingen engine has turned out to be a financial time bomb. We have Jaguar with a failed turbo and we have found what appears to be parts of the cylinder liners in the sump , this is a low mileage car which a man has purchased just over a year ago with full service history as his retirement gift to himself. We have a Discovery which had a sudden loud rattle then expired. We believe the timing chain guides have failed and the chain has jumped. We have turned away an Evoke which has a severe rattle and engine knock. The truth is these engines are a total liability regardless of more frequent servicing. Most of the traders I know will not touch them as they have to warrant them , one got badly burnt and had to put a new engine in, Land Rover did not want to know despite full dealer history.......buyer beware.
I fully agree, the worst engine in history, just read the opinions of users on the forums and you will never decide to buy this risky Jaguar car. See what are the prices of used engines, and all because they have not been produced for several years.
After 2019 issues were addressed, reinforced chain and guides, important to not be throttle happy at low temp and change oil change every 10k miles to not destroy the turbo. If maintenance did not matter then there would be no Alfa Romeos on the road.
Hi I have watched both your videos on the cost of owning a 180d f pace and reliability. Really interesting. I have like you similar experiences. I have a 180d currently and had the same issue with the flat battery after a service I have had a 2017 3.0d v6 previously and like my current car was reliable and lovely to own. I totally agree with the point. Look after them and you should be paid back. I do about 40,000 a year and get about 48mpg. Keep the videos going!
So is it really that good on fuel? 48mpg is nice. I am currently between 2.0d and 3.0d curious alot what is their consumption. I Can't find any video in youtube about that. Curently drive XF 2.0d 2017 r-sport very nice on fuel when driving extra urban. Before was on XJL x351 Big brother :) but engine start knocking there. Otherwise nice car.
