Great video i changed out my radio as it developed a mind of it's own and replaced it with an aftermarket replacement ..... many thanks for your upload 10/10 .
Thanks for the video. I watched it so many times before attempting a stereo replacement I had all the steps memorised and everything came apart easily. I guess a few people had been in there before, as half the screws were missing and several tabs snapped off. I found a useful image on one of the Jaguar Forums with the speaker and other stereo wire colours identified, which was a huge help as mine were connected pretty much all incorrectly.
Thanks for the instructions on how to get it out and replace! I will say though that it looks like a lot to do on your phone while you’re trying to drive- unless you’re controlling everything from your phone on the dashboard radio. I may not know what I’m talking about.
Thanks for your comment, in fact the app on phone is good to change tracks by tapping or the screen,I only use for that by driving. To manage the music and other settings I did use the apps also as it’s very intuitive, but honestly when it’s done and set, it’s all good, and I can say I didn’t touch since ! Cheers
Hi when you took out the stereo panel was there enough room to fit a small amplifire in the cavity ? 7.35" x 2.5" x 1.5" ?? (W x H x D) 181 x 38 x 64 mm
@@gaz1tinsley finally probably you may be able to fit if twisted, i will work on the car very soon for the rust restoration episode. I will come back to you to let you know better. ru-vid.com/group/PLDO72cEZ3Qf9A85jlO_y-8yFn98Cq1IYO
Hi again, I checked this afternoon, I think it will fit as it’s a bit deep under the dashboard, but maybe you would have to remove more things than for the radio !
Hey there! The link appears to be dead to the facia adapter... do you happen to have a link that is still good? looking desperately for this. Great vid!
There’s a white wire that was plugged in next to your black CD player wire that was gone in your car but I have in my car, no sound from speakers with aftermarket radio, when I plug white wire back in the stick radio it’s fine? Any idea?
Hi, a very informative video, many thanks. One question, maybe a dumb one, but does the electrical aerial still function as it should ? In other words go down when you turn the radio off and up when you switch it on ?? As I want to upgrade my 1995 X300 too.
Hi, thanks for your kind words 😃. Yes it’s still working with the radio, there a wire in my unit, a blue one if I remember that you can connect to the original radio wiring. Sorry I forgot which one 😅
It’s what happened to mine also. That’s why I changed for an aftermarket. I don’t know if it’s good to try to repair as it’s “old school” radio. Sure it’s not anymore original now but at least it’s working well
@@psv1600 do you know where the amplifier is? All the button works fine and my radio can be turned on, therefore I’m suspecting the amplifier is broken
@@95x300I think it's built in the radio, I never heard about outboard amplifier in our car. you should register in the jaguar X300 group in FB, there's too many nice people with huge knowledges. I'm sur you can find with them. Unfortunately i'm not electronic guy :-(
After watching many of your videos i knowwhy you have so much rust as your car is a uk car being right hand drive and winter driving on salted roads is a car killer.
