I own a 1990 Daimler Double Six, in the same colour the one Clarkson is driving. An absolute pleasure to own and drive.

I shed a tear 30 years ago when I first saw this on top gear( I was 17). It still brings a lump to my throat. It was a sad day when they stopped production

I must confess, I have an unheathy obsession with this car. I'm so in love with them. Takes me back to a good time. The broadspeed is gorgeous.

After I first saw this on Top Gear, I went out and bought one. Since then I have bought a number of them, including an exact copy of Jeremy's Daimler. I am very fortunate, that I can still look in their eyes every day. In my opinion simply the most beautiful car ever made. Thank you Jeremy, at your very best.

When Top Gear was a good programme, and this such an emotional report on the sad ending on a truly beautiful motor car , arguably, many say , THE BEST CAR IN THE WORLD . Makes me sad every time I watch it.

As i previously announced i love these old dutches's. I saw one the other day on the road. It was like a religious experience. I'm lucky enough to be the custodian of two of these. Work is in progress to get them back to health. Soon i'l be able to take them down the fosse way

I first saw this on TV and again 4 years ago and after yet another breakdown with my 7 series BMW , I bought a series 3 Daimler Double six , NOS delivery mileage only from Japan exactly the same as this one and absolutely agree , there is nothing to touch this car not then not now not ever . There are many more in Japan being repatriated so you can still buy a brand new Series 3 Jag .

Stunningly beautiful. I have an almost thirty year old XJS V12, two door coupe. I am in Love with it still.

I daily drove a Gold 1984 XJ12 series 3 for ten years . I did all the maintenance myself. One of the best driving cars I've ever had , acceleration up tp 245 kph on the freeway was effortless and at that speed you could hear mostly just air going over the body. And just beautiful! My daily driver now X100, silver/black 2001 xkr convertible , another beautiful jaguar.

i come back from time to time, and this video still remains a piece of art. my young, Southern European mind was struck by the effortlessness of "The End" (both of them)

I think the 2dr XJC V12 might just possibly be the most perfect Jaaaaaaag ever made. But the XJ V12 was for me, probably the best 4dr Jag they ever made.

With all that has happened to the motor industry, I've not lusted over a car like that in a while. Old cars are the new individuality.

Still have my 86 XJ6. Love it. I’ve done my own repairs so it’s affordable.

Mine is a 1986, bought at 6 years old in a poorly maintained state. And I still have it over 30 years later. Yes, the fastest country cottage in the world. And the most beautiful. And smoothest. Sublime. And it goes round corners better than a contemporary 3 series Beemer.

One of the most sexy looking car's ever built. I currently own a 2006 4.2 v8 sovereign, the closest I can afford to the Jaguar that look like 'Jaguar' hopefully one day I'll own a series 3!!!!!!

Did 250 miles in mine yesterday, felt smug through each one of ‘em. What a machine.

Excellent car. The one thing I didn't like about that model was the digital computer display in the middle of the centre console. It showed range, average speed, miles per gallon and the time. I wish they'd just left well alone and kept the analogue clock which featured in series 2s and early series 3s. In a car like that, the last thing you want to be reminded of is the fact you're getting 16 mpg on a level road when driving moderately, and about 9 mpg when driving up hill.

I had an '86 in Grey . I've owned near 30 cars over the years and along with an Opel Rekord Sprint that was the one I should've kept.

From my experience, all XJ cars up to 2003 are as described by Jeremey Clarkson, "the most comfortable car you can buy...."

As a kid in the eighties I thought this was something truly wonderful ( later in my life I actually had an old series two which I drove every day even though I had a brand new Audi ), we didn't know things were at it's peak. We had Reagan, Thatcher, the Concorde, 747s, QE2s and we just assumed things would continue to become better. Had I known that everything would end in plastic lookalikes, Chinese cars being actually desirable and Boeings flying themselves into the ground I would have cherished that era so much more. We were cheated out of flying cars and actual space exploration, not to mention respectable politicians.

A lovely looking car with a wonderful V12 and for many years class leading ride/handling. A shame about the crap 3 speed auto box though.

Great car from the past. I have an old car mag from 1991 when the new s class 600 sel came out and a 4 car luxury car comparison test was carried out including an xj12, 600sel bmw 735i and Lexus ls400,in the noise meter readings at steady 31 mph the xj12 was even quieter than the rest even the Lexus! But at higher speeds it had wind noise due it it being an old design which marked it down,but even so to beat the ls400 at low speed silence says something

For looks the S2 had it. But as an all round package the S3 XJ12 was perfect.

I'd like to think quite a few people ran to the dealer in those last two weeks to get one of last ones back then😢
