The Jaguar XJC V12 manual Coupe has gone through a transformation over the past 8 weeks and today I got to see the engine bay painted in the bespoke Aston Martin green for the first time. Painting Classic Cars have worked miracles repairing the rusty sections on the body and it's time for the first coats of primer to be applied.

I first saw a 'C' being driven by John Steed in The Avengers and immediately thought it was the coolest design. Over 40 years later and I still think it's hard to beat for sheer style and panache. I'm pretty certain Harry's finished example with that glorious colour and manual conversion will easily earn the accolade of the finest XJC in the world.

I agree, it's up there together with the BMW e9 coupe and Ferrari 330GTC. It's going to look stunning. Late-1960's to early-1970's was a great time for elegant car designs.

I agree I'm to young era wise 37 but when I saw The Avengers on repeat I was hooked. Modified or stock they look stunning. Not sure the name of the colour either that crazy Magenta purple, Prim rose yellow or Brown. Not from the 70s but my colour pallet screams 70s 🙂

I’m utterly impressed with the way they’ve recreated an off side rear wing by using a rear wing and half a door skin from four door panels that is sheer brilliance in my opinion...350 hours so far so maybe 500 odd total? I’m glad Harry has very deep pockets! Should probably be the best example in existence when completed 👍🇬🇧👌

Absolutely fascinated by the craftsmanship that has gone into a rebuild like this. And I love greens and blue colours especially the green you have chosen H. Harry: I agree: That green is absolutely beautiful!! I was hoping you would pick BRG, but this color is very lovely indeed (not to mention tasteful). The contrast between the body "before" versus "after" is quite astounding. Most car owners would have abandoned this car once all that corrosion became apparent. Can't wait to see this one brought fully back to "new". Thank you.

In all honesty your previous paper magazine you were involved with was the last one I purchased ever before just using the web for all, and I love watching your series on your cars on here!! Your my kind of car person, you love things to be perfect on your cars if doing things fully, and they’re doing a cracking job of your XJC (love them!), having worked myself in all areas of the motor industry all my working life I know how difficult each and every area is (except sales that is! And I’ve done that too but I was 100%, I know shocker right, some are and I never let anyone buy a used car I didn’t think was any good if they were nice people! ) Only thing I’d suggest but your probably doing is replace all the engine and gearbox mounts whilst it’s out and any other bushes that are a bugger to get to with it altogether, saves you money in the long run👍🏻😉 My fav car thing on RU-vid other than Chris Harris as he’s the only other honest person than doesn’t talk utter balls to real car people not only aimed at people that just drive cars but don’t know them well, anyone can wax lyrically about cars and knowing cars they all bore me until I’ve finished a bottle of something!🤦🏼‍♂️ Have slight car envy by the way!🙈
