I love the story, the plot, cinematography was on plot, costumes, make up, stunts, wide angle shots, location etc. They sure had a good budget and made great use as well of it.
I think it’s a story one would have to follow keenly. One would have to follow the conversations very well. Gbogunmi was second in command to the antagonist. His refusal to fight the village he was sent to by Ogundiji because of his wife was what caused their rift. It was the rift that led to Ogundiji pairing him with Gbotija in a death fight. I agree that the many villages might give off a wrong vibe. I guess they tried explain how Ogundiji had influence over many villages.
The movie was a 9.5/10 for me. I want to believe that you don’t speak perfect Yoruba or that you are not one and that may be the reason sis. First of all, the carnival you were trying to remember is called OJUDE OBA and it’s done annually in Ijebu Ode. Secondly, I agree with you that the final fight between Ogundiji and Gbotija could have been better than that and yes the water issue also was because he could communicate with the god of the woods and he was talking to it all through sis. Thirdly, the many villages that were shown in the movie is because this isn’t the end of the movie, there’s going to be some more parts and that is to prepare the ground for us trust me. It could be a trilogy from what I’m guessing. In all, I did enjoyed your review and yes you did well and took your time sis. Well done and God bless.
The reason for the different villages was to give a background about Ogundiji, how he helps villages/kings to fight wars and retain their crowns, most of those kabiyesi's were able to get their crown through the help of Ogundiji.
I watch the movie everyday i love the soundtrack, proverb even kings make jokes in their meeting only person that can't speak yoruba we not watch this movie several times kudos to mr femi adebayo that make us yoruba proud with culture, proverb etc
