Being at a Shaka dance especially pre 1990 was a real mind blowing experience. Speaker boxes shaking with ruff bass from roots reggae dub plates, all races/ nationalities skanking without a care in the world, no tension , great vibes, 1 turntable on a thick piece of sponge, stopping off at the bagel shop before getting home, ears ringing well into the next day.
Yeah I remember. At just after 4 or 5, the uniformed workers finishing their shift work would show up, saw some British rail workers properly letting off. Those times were pure magic ❤️💛💚
@@yodab.at1746 Now I cannot get the vision of some BR dudes skanking in a Shaka dance out of my head, lol. For me those days were the best musically but not educationally. I first heard Shaka ( mid 80s) in a small venue in Peckham , even from outside it was almost as if the bass pressure was going to break the windows. Looking back I feel sorry for the neighbors.
Been listening to this all day working riddled in pain have a condition like ms been offered to be signed off before but didn't do it. This music keeps me going through any pain Jah Shaka Warrior style rocking all day. 🦁🙏❤️
Serious! Healing sounds! I went to Shaka bent over + came out upright, I went in barely walking + came out dancing, I went in confused + came out enlightened + peaceful. Shaka forever!
Jah Shaka played in Birmingham @ The Irish Centre on 28/12/. It was like nights at the Rocket. Every tune he played that night was better than the last one. The dance was a “classic” Shaka session. ❤️💛💚
Remember the rocket 🚀 Killer dances! Enough respect for the uploads I was 15 years old when I went to rocket for the first time 1993. Remember getting there early to see Shaka set up the sound system. Wow Big up the roots & culture People. Pass the History & knowledge to the youths One love One people
Tuff session. Dance is sometime after 1995 tho as I remember giving Shaka the Daddy Roots vocal and dub at 23.14 in person in March 1995. Loving the uploads! History!!!
I travelled down Highgate Hill and along Holloway Road early to meet my comrade, Pugh Shirkman, at the Rocket. Before leaving home I played Universal Tribulation. I met Pugh in the bar, we drank beer and chatted. Then we went into the hall and Shaka dropped the first tune. Gregory Isaacs, "Universal Tribulation", if my memory serves me well. Sorry I left early, Pugh, without saying goodbye. Each man has to go through his own individual tribulation.
Nobody plays bass like Shaka nice hollow with deep vibration resonance ,I've copied his sound with my small set doesn't blow your brains out but sounds nice and lofi ,seen Shaka countless times back in the day I was probably at this session,This is how to play soundsystem,Shaka the master ❤️💛💚🇯🇲🍀🙏
Track 19 minutes to end i remember this track it was near the end of the night lights come on and the die hards were sucking the last of a rocking session. Big up Shaka. Would love to hear this again in a session!!

Please can someone tell me the tune/dub that starts at 1:01:36 ? The dub is so heavy🔥 There was a video posted on RU-vid of shaka playing this dub at Birmingham carnival 2004 but it has been taken down.
@@colinchristopher432 Greetings 🙌🏿 I have finally managed to find a good video of visual footage of Shaka playing Inspiration Dubplate in a dance played in Birmingham 2004. Dub starts at 9 minutes 20 seconds. Link ➡️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ydptOaQtKgk.html
