I loved PiL back in the early 80s, still do, but Wobble's path has been a revelation. Never predictable - he's kept me entertained for 40 bloody years. If you haven't seen this man live then go, every incarnation of his band has been worth the money and effort 10 times over
1994 was before we all understood that doom was imminent in our world. You could still have great, even unreasonable hope for the future, as evidenced by this song and so many other positive aspects of the 1990s.
We ALL miss Delores! What an angelic voice. I had the pleasure of meeting her back in 1994. Absolutely stunning! She had a calming demeanor, although everyone around her was fussing and buzzing.... Sorely missed. 🙏🏾🤎💔
I’m so proud of Dolores O’Riordan for admiring Sinead O’Connor a lot. Her voice, her music and her style reminds me of Sinead O’Connor. Irish singers are the best.👍
Such beautiful voices all together in one endeavor is so amazing. Dolores and Jan Wabble are so amazing as well as the other singers and musicians. Such a more laid back time without social media and cell phones. People were more genuine.
First hearing of Wobble ..Rainbow theatre .PIL gig 1979 ..I went to the gig not feeling well , Flu hit me while LKJ was on ..all I could hear was his bass lines from the car I was resting in at the back of the Rainbow ..awesome #
Seems that most folks here are commenting upon Dolores, but there's two songs on this video - the second of which is one of the stand-out tracks of the album. Both the singers here are great!
Everyone talks of the great guitarists that are around and have been, but nobody gives bass players real credit, Jah is class player along with a list of others
John Wetton is an astonishing bass player - but Mr Wobble is unique in his own way - and if I were to chose between the two I slightly prefer Jah Wobbles feel for the bass over Mr Wettons technical brilliance,
There is a chance that it is because an apposite response to such a musing is the acronym "WTF?". (Not many respondents, well, none other than me, and after eleven years since leaving that comment, you may even be deceased.)
I always thought that Dolores O’Riordan is Sinead O’Connor’s sister even the fact says “WHAT THE F***”, they are NOT sisters. Sinead has to be proud of Dolores who adores her so much.✌️
Does anyone know what's the girls name is who sings lead on Amor? I second all the comments about Jah Wobble's book "Memoirs of a Geezer" being a great read - cheers.
sorry for ignorance, but Dolores O'Riordan was there like a guest or this is before the Cranberries? i am here from "Becoming more like god" and i see Jah Wobble is also a bass player... btw class 76 ,present thanks for the video !!!!
@brian jones. No. This was June 1994, before The Cranberries had even released their 2nd album. In fact, The Cranberries played on the same show 1 week later.
This was aired on 4 June, 1994. She was guesting. The Cranberries were on the show the following week (there's footage on YT). No Need to Argue was released in October, I think.
I know about something about her as it happens i.e. know someone who actually does know her; she is a vocal coach when she isn't singing, but that is all the information you are getting. I am not going to give out information to a potential stalker or some weird lonely fantasist.
