‘Waris Punjab De’ Chief and independent MP from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat Amritpal Singh’s parents reached Dibrugarh jail to meet him after his LS poll win. Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh said, “I thank the people of Punjab for voting for him (Amritpal Singh) in large numbers...He could be released soon for taking oath as Lok Sabha MP...He was saving Punjab from drug menace...There was anger amongst the public against the actions of the government for putting him in jail...” Amritpal Singh's mother Balwinder Kaur said, “I thank the public for making him (Amritpal Singh) an MP with a very huge lead...He will come out of jail soon...The government will have to release him as people have given him such a big mandate...”
