Perhaps the best foreign minister on Earth. Kudos to the largest democracy for actually electing people who represent your interests and the long term future of democracy, which is not the US nor the UK corporate rigged oligarch systems
He just literally killing the questions related to the indias buying of oil and gas in different forums and dialogue so aptly and boldly that even a 10th grade guy would love to be like him😃😋
Dr Jaishankar is an absolute legend in the making. India is blessed to have him and I pray the people of India realise this as well as how much BJP has done for India in such a short time compared to the Congress years. Love to 🇮🇳 from 🇬🇧
Exactly!! The tactics to distract the people to bjps contribution have been incessant , but i hope the common man does see it and realize its significance!
I just love how Sir has been spearheading our foreign policy. 2019 was when he was brought in 2020- Covid 19 2021- Galwan 2022- Afghanistan and Ukraine I don't think anyone would have been able to do a better job and his experience of being a career diplomat definitely helps.
CCP aggression is limited to border skirmishes where india fought back, whereas russia is killing innocent civilians and destroying a democratic country. If someone can't condemn that on humanitarian ground then he/she isn't a good person anyway.
The British and US will do their best to push schism between India, China and Russia - also India and Pakistan. I don't need to say "divide and rule" - it's well known.
Indians tend to inflate their tension with their neighbors. Note that from the global Perspective, your boader skirmishes with Pakistan and China is miniscule. Pakistan and China don't even mention them because there are simply bigger issues.
Brits know how much they need india. They have experience how USA surpassed them without help of brits. Same goes for india. India will surpass USA and china. They know disaster if India join group of Russia and China. BRICS will be strongest organization. Organization of future superpower countries.
I love Minister Jaishankar. He is certainly Prime Minister material and I hope to see him advance through the ranks of politics to one day become the Prime Minister of India. His thinking ability is second to none in the foreign ministry diaspora and his experience and skills will be very valuable to a country like India - An India that's just beginning to leave its mark on geopolitics and the art of diplomacy.
Jai Shankar views can be soothing for Egalitarians and Elite and for well educated ppl which is roughly 10 % of ind population. For rest ,Banana Politics works.
@@jayasree6722 his government was great we didn't go to recession even during the 2008 global recession. modi government has made india hit lowest of the lows in all criteria
Mr.Jaishankar to foreign diplomacy is analogous to Sachin Tendulkar to cricket. He is amongst the best diplomats across the world today. He puts India at the epicentre of world diplomacy. At this rate, he will become all time greats.
“Understand there is a fundamental problem if an aggressor can get away with invading a sovereign nation” Words from the descendant(truss) of the very same aggressors.
Liked from 38:00..😀 Truss: About Ukraine-we have to look at the past. About India- We have to look at only future (forget the past)...The last part about cheap energy from Russia was superb..
@@pranav7418 well it's not about just modi 😒 Pura team effort h and there are various other reasons like Indian economy, our market etc Sirf ek admi par kabhi dependent nhi rehte kabhi always turns out to be disaster..
This is pretty amazing that the Brit is trying her best to steer the conversation to Ukr-Rus while the Indian Minister has very tactfully steered the dialog away from Ukr-Rus centric. Probably the most brilliant External Affairs Minister ever coming from India.
@RKA ME Correct India should educate everyone in the only living Indian classical language, Tamil. Tamil MPs need to obtain permission to speak Tamil in the Indian parliament. It is a shame.
@RKA ME English language use? Believe me Indians and the world will ditch English once England returns all the loot, compensate every life it took, artefacts etc!
Dr Jaishankar is to astute, competent and experienced a Diplomat and Minister to be taken in by the likes of the Hon. UK Foreign Secretary here. He is also too dignified to be impolite! It is a new world order. The sooner the western governments recognize it, the smoother life will be for their people.
UK condemning Russia for invading other country 🤣🤣🤣 UK got rich by invading and colonising, and now they're like "we're done, we're at the top, now everyone stops!" Like a petulant child 😂
I think she should leave. UK has never shared technology with India. UK has always voted against us in every single international forum on every single issue. We don't have any potential to improve these relations unless that has changed for at least a decade.
The British still think that they are the ‘stiff upper lip’ of the past that others would be submissive to their condescending attitude to the past colonial ‘subjects’! Wrong! Wake up and smell the coffee, it is a different world out there!
It seemed to me FM Jaishankar was more diplomatic and long-sighted. Secy Truss seemed more political and focused on the immediate short-term situation in the Ukraine. Anyway, good discussion overall.
I think jaishankar is remembering that they intervened and suggested even in their parliament that 370 abrogation was wrong and almost implied that kashmir should be free And why would we forget that They also didn't do much about afganistan, we are left alone to take the danger
@@urjafest2048 I think you meant the UK implied Kashmir should secede. We all agree that Kashmiris deserve a life free of extremism or economic backwardness, which is what removing 370 intends to accomplish.
No Secy Truss lost the plot and lost the focus on India's neutrality and the fact that India must be responsible for maintaining India's neutrality! Quite a lot of hot air from the Indian gentleman! The first prize must go to the advocate who can win a guarantee from India not to fuel the Russian war. Nothing but that Indian guarantee is important now.
Dr Jaishankar is a brilliant speaker with great charm and logic... He makes indian foreign policy very presentable and great even during troubled times... we are proud of him and his astonishing expertise...
Dr jaishankar, you should have given her a tight history of what war, genocide, famine, activating inter-ethnic-religious conflicts and of course partition has done to India. Still this b!tch has the audacity to come and talk "HISTORY"!? Man! We need to shove up some spicy curry up on her a&&
47:27 "MAY I JUST ADD A WORD THERE ?" They didn't want to let Dr S Jai Shankar speak about his own perspective to the question . As if someone would ask this question and Truss would give an answer about India's oil purchase . Coreography at its best . But the anchor let Truss to respond .These are the people who looted 45 Trillion $ from India . Absolutely shameful, disgusting hypocrites.
@@urjafest2048 dude.. they are not asking for help.. if u observe the whole interview, the underlying vein is that they are very arrogant and blackmailing us that if we don't help them, they won't consider us a humans.
It never fails to amaze me when UK minister speaks at international forum as though they have a black hole on their own atrocities committed in India, how to proceed on lecturing India what policy India should embrace. The typical "zero sum" game is truly astounding.
It is telling that Mr Jaishankar has greater grasp of the english language than his British counterpart. Intellectually, she is a pygmy, compared to him.
42:00 here is the future FM! Flawlessly eloquent and polite, asking hardest question there is. Priority of an FM. Imagine a diplomatic corps of such students trained in the ways of Jai-Fu!
Infact all of India's diplomats comes from the same cadre of Jaishankar with the same training. He himself was an IFS officer before becoming the minister.
Strengthening our relationship and India's neutrality is paramount so get a guarantee that India will not fuel Putin's war by purchasing Russian oil during the Russian war! Liz Truss is essentially stating the obvious. Liz failed to get the assurances we need. She's exposing our vulnerabilities without getting any guarantees from Modi. There is zero humility!
S Jaishankar is one of those people for whom I'd like to see political parties coming together and agreeing on the fact that he's the right man for the job across different elected cabinets. Having an expert rather than a politician in the chair of EAM is such a relief 🙌
The British while they ruled India had two types of relationship with Russia. While they fought in the Crimea they somehow tried to accommodate Russia with the sole aim of keeping them away from India. Besides depending on Russian arms India has to keep Russia away from the Pakistan, China axis. India cannot afford to antagonise Russia. This is perhaps the defining moment of India's foreign policy. It cannot afford to distance itself from the West.
Speaking from the West all I can say is that the US and UK have both been hegemonic world imperialist powers and they mean to stay so with whatever ruthless, open and covert means they choose. They are in deviousness, experience and imperial ambition of a different order to other powers. They are looters, not to be trusted. China is also under pressure from the US and UK . Ultimately my personal hope is for eventual melting away of national enmities and borders and an end to oligarchy. In the meantime active peacekeeping is the best that can be done.
Dr JaiShankar salute to you. Amazing to see how you captured and turned that last moment to give your bit of strong reply to western campaigns against India’s interests. Just love it 👌🙏 Jai Hind 🇮🇳
Have the intelligence to understand that people and nations and indeed the world change/s, and there is a difference between past and present, and perhaps colonialism was needed (though perhaps in a less brutal avatar) to bring structure, and order, and robust and just systems to the relatively less advanced nations. The Indian army, parliamentary system, the railroad and indeed India's unification as a nation, has much to thank the British for.
They used excellent foreign diplomacy. They used these to impress the Indian officials to sign the free trade deal which benefited UK immensely. That's why they were defensive
Want this guy to be PM of India in 2024, would love to vote him. He's quick to counter-that too logically, has the qualification requirements, wise and never backs down, no matter who's infront of you. But even i know, BJP won't let him run for PM
well he already doing justice to this post. For wining the election (specially PM post ) you need ground support. So Social media make u famous but cant let u win election..
This man was chosen personally by the PM and appointed to his current position by the PM as well. Yet you sit and criticise them. This hard bold appoach on the international stage has been established by the pm in all his travels overseas. You might want to rethink your dislike for bjp.
Truss: "Germany has changed its entire energy policy"... Very true... The German goverment is asking its citizens to chop wood for fires for heat (if you have a fireplace?) and to shower less. Kaboem. Energy policy changed.
When she talks about South Korea and Singapore at 2:37 her little stare gives away her thoughts to demean India's decision to stay neutral and to abstain from publicly calling out Russia when west is the agressor hiding behind Nato forces since 2014
UK Secretary seems to only have ukraine on agenda. Jaishanker handled very tough question commendably well by not taking sides yet holding india's interest high without making any eyebrows raised.
Hey it's Russia and usa both faults .. we can't deny Russia did a wrong thing. USA used deplomacy to cover it's enemy ...every country do that we also try to overcome pakistan and china in every aspects but through our soft power and diplomacy not by war . In the same way Russia should have use diplomacy ( as all the countries are usually doing so )
India or Jaishankar's strategy is to move away from siding with the UK and US so they don't get stung like what happened to Canada and Ukraine. He knows that given the opportunity if the US or UK needed to throw India under the bus for their financial gain it would happen without hesitation. India needs to distance themselves and grow strong to avoid being used and colonized by the UK. The way Truss talks here is quite embarrassing for the intelligent because we can all see through her agenda of war mongering.
@@casteretpollux why does brit forget their invasion and why did she forget that they meddled with Indian police of Kashmir Afghanistan happened also close to us Now they are worried !!! 😠
Good discussion 👌 thanks from Sri Lanka I strongly believe that world should focus on climate change than war industry (or defence industry more formally) 🤔 🤷
My comments are the same as Shasi Menon/I fully agree, also he is very brilliant and diplomatic, The right person for the job I gave lot of respect for him
I could sit and listen and truly enjoy Mr.Jaishankar's presentation and comments and wisdom for several hours. What a contradiction between these two speakers! I don't know why the other person was involved in this forum. Propaganda is recognized from one speaker's side, which is not surprising considering the source.
The strategic future is that India should occupy Britain and restore it's democracy. Scotland for instance was told it could not stay in the EU if it departed in 2014, then in 2016 against its will it was told it was out of EU. Yet denied a re-vote. No. Take no lessons in democracy from UK Tories.
I think this lady can achieve is dilute relationship between countries not anything else. I see arrogance over constructive dialogue in her voice. India is different now lady not your colony anymore.
Historical responsibility - funny hearing that from British... , forget colonialism, as recent as in 1971 none lifted a finger during massacre of bengalis , during taliban rule , during chinese skirmishes ... 🙄🙄
Shameless people passed a resolution about 370 abrogation in their parliament They kept quite Afghanistan which is closer threat to us. Will we forget these !! Sorry it is not old 70 years or MMS govt anymore
Dr. Jai Shankar steered away from the narrow perspective that MP Truss wanted to navigate around. His views were holistic, presented a deeper and broader read on the subject. The ‘strong response’ Ms Truss advocated, hasn’t seen much of an impact on Russian presence in Ukraine, willy nilly.
Madam, UK's war is wonderful. It can destroy population and its for public benefit. Another country's war is cruel, bad and evil. We all know what happened in Libya and the consequences of military actions initiated by USA, UK and others. Madam, please arrange to return USD 45 trillion looted and stolen from India. Let this be the beginning. Let UK show intention.
UK itself has only 3 trillion dollar. I don't think they can return 45 trillion dollar to us even if UK citizens sell their kidney then still they can't repay back 45 trillion dollar to us
Its very interesting to see the pull from both sides. Sec Tuss is consistently pulling dialogue in the direction of Russia-Ukraine event while FM Jaishankar trying to focus on mutual relationship more than others. I think FM Jaishankar seems to be more sensible and will be better for both sides to work rather than focusing only on one issue.
