Well, it's April 2024 and I've just glitched Jack 2 and Jack 3. I'm on ps5 and I've only got one controller, so I can confirm that everything works correctly, but there are a few processes that differ. Here I'll explain how I did it, in the hope that it will help others. All the explanations in the video are valid and I followed them to the letter right up to the moment of the trophies for the 300/600 orbs. It seems that the technique used for this passage has been patched. Instead of holding L2, once you've launched the challenge for the first time, you simply use L2 and R2 to put yourself in flight mode. Once done, press start, go to the restart/quit tab and press restart. Confirm with yes. When you confirm with yes, you automatically return to the game and the music changes (it's defeat music). Once done, you can retrieve the orb (note that the countdown timer no longer appears, but if it reaches 0, the orb disappears, so don't drag your feet either, but there's plenty of time - don't worry) once you've retrieved the orb, all you have to do is press, X or L1 to deactivate flight mode, which will restart the challenge. Repeat the operation until you've collected all 300 orbs. From there, you can follow the instructions in the video to the letter. For those of you with only one controller. Simply connect a second self-created profile (it doesn't even have to be connected or linked to the Psn) and use the Remote Play app. So you're in your main profile, press the Home button and switch users. You return to your main profile on the game screen and pause the game. You connect to the remote play application with your main profile (normally it's automatically linked to it). Your controller, which was linked to your main profile, will disconnect. Reconnect it and a message will appear on your console/tv asking you to assign the controller to a profile. Assign it to your create/guest profile. If you've followed all the instructions, you should now have your main profile streaming the ps5 on the Remote Play application and the mirrored image on your TV, but affiliated to the create/guest profile. Now all you have to do is click on L3 + X to see the 600 orbs trophy appear. I hope I've made myself clear. 💪🏼✌🏼

This glitch still works. Thanks for showing me a guide for this I was only missing the 600 orb trophy and I wasn't going through the game again to get all 600

So I finally got the plat. Everything worked fine except the orbs glitch which has been patched. You need to actually get 300 orbs by choosing mission select towards the end of the game, and getting 300 orbs legit from the challenges. You can use debug mode to fly and make it a lot easier though. I got most almost all the ones in Spargus and Haven City and then cleaned up in the wasteland. Then once hit 300 do the extra controller exploit and you’ll get the platinum

On PS4 I do it and follow your guide 100% Everything be fine , nothing hard And platinum trophy pop under 1 hour 20min , if anyone feel confused with last trophy you should find another video And watch how to easy way glitch your Orbs That so easy , i did it after I’ve finish Jak2 *Both of platinum trophy Jak2 and Jak3 I’ve use 1h 30m to unlock , thanks you❤️

With the new patch I found if you fly over the orb, let the timer go out, and then let yourself fall down you’ll get the orb. Then rinse and repeat.

Great guide - done in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Some additional tips: When farming the scorpions for metal head gems, use L2 + triangle to heal yourself (providing you have some white eco). The 2nd blue gun is also really helpful - press DOWN twice on the d-pad to select. The orb farming method at the end only works if you have some dark eco (pick up a few dark purple pellets from vases etc before starting).

Due to the orb glitch now being patched you HAVE TO earn 300 orbs legit, then you can use the debug method to get the next 300 (and the gold trophy). These 300 orbs aren't too big a pain, especially if you use debug to fly, but just for a reference, there are 56 orbs you can get between spargus city, Spargus Palace and the arena just lying in the open/inside urns. There are 30 orbs in the Port area of Haven city, and 27 throughout the other areas of the city. So far this is 113 orbs. The rest of the orbs are best obtained from various side missions (the races through haven city provide 10 orbs, finding a hidden orb grants 3, etc.). As annoying as this is, it's still faster than doing it legit.

Thanks. Works as of today October 2018 on ps4. Guide worked on the first attempt. Make sure you save every 5 or 10 orbs in 2 different save slots. That way if you grab the orb by mistake you simply reload before making the mistake. GREAT GUIDE. Thanks!!

If anyone is still having trouble with the orbs, here's something that may make it easier using a similar method. When flying over to a gold orb, stay in flight mode, then pause and restart mission. You do not have to hold down L2 for this. That's just used for Dark Jak to make the orb home in on him. But if you select restart mission while still in flight mode, it will not transition into a yellow tint. Instead, you can freely roam around to your heart's content and pick up the orb that way. Then simply press X to land and the mission loads back to the beginning. You can be a little further away to ensure you don't pick up the orb during the timer by accident.

Update: 12/7/22 STILL WORKING. i just followed the above video on my ps5. I struggled a little to get into the second debug menu, but after I started a game, and saved the game, the second combo worked to open up the secret menu. Everything worked fine up until the orb section at the very end of the video. There is a way to do it. Someone left a comment above on how it works. Basically, you will follow the video until you get to the orb, and you will restart the mission WHILE STILL FLYING. collect the orb and then hit x to land. This will restart the mission. Fly again, restart the mission, collect the orb, then land. Do this over and over and over again until the first trophy pops. Then do the second controller hack that is explained in the video. Guys for platinum in jak 1 do not use the debug to collect power cell only do it after you complete collecting from each area especially the last area ( spider cave ) The orbs will bug because you collect the power cell before you play this part. Collect the orbs and the flies then if you missed power cell do it with debug.

How to exit de bug mode? Also when i do the orb glitch it still shows i have the same amount of orbs, that does not change or does it not show since im restarting this over and over?

When you get to L3 and X just turn on the second controller and log into your second account and do it from that controller

Thank you for the great guide! Ive had some problems on my PS5 and the story trophies didn't pop for me (except 5) you have to delete the save file. You'll find it under settings -> saved data / game - App settings -> saved data (ps4) and under delete. If you delete everything and restart and do the trick it will work.

I got over 500 orbs myself and was determined to finish it. But the challenges were becoming such bullshit with the hang time so I said f it I’m done. Thanks for the guide- it still works for the orbs

I followed this and get almost every trophy, it missing the orbs trophies 300 and 600, I’ve try this method and doesn’t work for me, simply the orbs doesn’t increase, do you know how to solve this, I even got 1000 of orbs with the 2nd controller and trophy didn’t pop up 😅

People saying the orb glitch does not work anymore are wrong, fly with R2 and L2 to near the orb then restart mission, the mission won't restart until you stop flying so fly into the orb then press L1 and the mission will restart, that is how it's done in 2024.

ATTENTION: This glitch has been patched. However, you can still use Debug mode to get to 600 orbs. Unfortunately, you'll need to legitimately get to 300 orbs on your own. I just played all of the challenges and after I completed a bunch of them, and from the orbs I had from my playthrough, I had over 300. Then I used Debug mode and the 600 orbs trophy popped. It's not too hard to do it this way either. It just takes longer, but honestly it's more fun to do the challenges then to collect the same one orbs hundreds of times.

I tried Jak 1. The first code worked on the “press start” screen but the second code didn’t work! I tried it after the scene on the pause menu didn’t work either! Then I tried it while playing it worked but nothing seems to happen! Ugh! Hope you make a guide for it thanks!

After trying to collect the orbs for a while, I paused the game to check how many I got. but the number orb not increasing at all Is this normal?

At the last collectibles i cant pick up the orb from the challenge. When u do it u release red lightning and tha orb vanishes but when i do it the orb is still there and no red sparks for me and the orb doesnt count as obtained. Can Anyone help me with this?

The collectibles trophies won't pop for me after giving myself orbs and gems with L3+X.

just did it got into secret menu after using both codes, went to level select 3, destory final boss. and not 1 trophy popped up. i did it multiple times turned off ps5 tried again and still nothing. i am at 0% trophy for this using both cheats codes. any idea's?

Sorry if somebody has said this. But I have an alternate method on collecting orbs glitch. USE DEBUG MODE TO FLY, once you are flying you can restart the mission any time you want, the game won't trigger the mission restart UNTIL YOU LAND PROPERLY WITH X. before landing, MAKE SURE TO PICK UP THE ORB FLY>RESTART MISSION>FLY INTO ORB>LAND PROPERLY (HIT X ABOVE GROUND LEVEL)

Someone tell me when u do the collectibles for precursor orbs is the count supposed to go up after restarting?

What should I do if I can't get a trophy traumatic brain injury, jump into the stratosphere and above the ionosphere.

When I try the orb glitch, it doesn’t show that I’ve picked up 3 orbs each time in the Secrets menu. Am I supposed to do this 100 times until the Trophy pops or does the game detect that you’re picking up 3 orbs at a time using this glitch?

After doing the second code I clicked the second last area instead of the last one by accident,so I didn't get all the trophies...I closed app and started again and hit the last area but I'm not getting the rest of them what do I do?

Can confirm everything works still on ps5 today march 2023, apart from last orb glitch. If having trouble getting the first orb trophies because u run out of enemies, just die, you keep you orbs. For the last orb glitch where u restart the quest 100 times. Do this, press R2 and L2 to fly , hover a little, then restart quest. You’ll still be able to move and quest won’t end until you press x, so fly to orb pick it up in fly mode , then press X and the mission will restart, rinse and repeat 100 times then do 2nd controller when 300 orb trophy pops. Hopes this helps people as was stuck on last part a while.

What if you haven’t touched the game in months and you stopped at the 300 orb trophy. Can you still get the 600 orbs needed? Or do you need to start a new save file?

Only the first part seems to go in my vita cuz if i do it once it makes a sound as if it does not want to but when i do it again it gives me a succsess sound but does nothing

I follewed the tutorial exactly and I pushed with the sec Controller L3+X and I get 1000 metalskull Heads and 1000 orbs But the last 3 trophies are not available anymore. I tried to do the 250 by myself but nothing happend:( if someone has a clue pls let me know :)

Not enough skull gems spawn with the scorpions, it always stops spawning just before 125, usually somewhere between 90 and 120

So yeah the glitch isn't working 😅 I don't get more orbs

Just fun that i got platinum for both Jak II and Jak III for ps4 before replaying them for real again 😂👍🏻 but it will be more fun now whitout needing to collect all those orbs and skulls 👌🏻

There is still a way after patch 1.02. Go to spot 1, talk to it, fly (R2+L2) to above the orb and ~1 sec after the timer runs out press the X button to fall. You will fall onto the orb and collect the 3 orbs without it counting against you. Then just restart on the option it gives you. It is very similar to Jak 2 but extremely easier. Works 100% of the time if you wait the extra second after 00.00 on timer.

I noticed its important that you dont die or activate that dark jak ability when farming the gems since this will glitch the level and the enemies won't drop them anymore. Happened to me twice until I figured that out.

I hope someone finds a way to plat Jak 1 in 5 mins. I plat the PS3 version years ago, I got about half way done with the Vita version but quit, it's so bad on the Vita.

i restarted again and again and i did every step you said , but still not working ,, the one ( last two trophies ) and on the game says congratulations you collect 600 ORBS but the trophies not pop out

for the orbs glitch, should it be showing me how many orbs I have, as the counter always shows 0 orbs after i collect it and the mission is restarted

Just to clarify. For the glitch you must have some dark energy stuff. If your pushing L2 and just crouching go around and break some crates until you get at least one purple orb. Then it should work.

Getting the 300 orbs just fly to the location and hover above orb, when timer goes to 0 and disappears press X to fall onto orb, press X to do challenge again, repeat 100 x's to get the 300 Precursor trophy 👍

To questions why do you need 2 ps4 controllers to do this and 2 can you only do it if you start from 0 present complete??

The 300 orbs glitch patched, but there is another glitch. Fly over the orbs and make sure it is not appear on the screen, when the time finished and the counter gone press X to jump on the orbs. After you collect the 300 orbs press pause menu and sign in with 2nd controller and with it press L3+X the 600 orbs trophy will pop up.

This has since been patched for the PS4 version but you can still do the orb glitch by flying above the orb in debug mode, waiting about a second after the clock ticks zero and then drop onto the orb by pressing X. If you do it correctly, you'll get the mission failed screen but you'll collect the orb when you fall onto it. Then just repeat 100 times until you get to 300 orbs and then you can use the 2nd controller to get the additional 300 like it is described in this video. Can be tricky to line yourself up on the orb and it's easy to accidentally collect it when trying to so I found the best one to do this on in this same section is the one where the orb as at the end of an overhang from a building. Where the orb is, there are bullet holes in the wall on the building. You can line yourself up with the 2 bullet holes directly above the orb, fly up until Jak's head is about even with the roof of the building and then fall directly down a second after the clock ticks zero and you'll land on the orb every time without having to get too close to it and potentially accidentally collecting it.

I get to 120 and then the scorpions with the gem stop spawning

So I literally just got this plat last night, so for the most part baddriver is spot on with this plat guide, but since the patch 1.02, you have to alter things for the gems and orbs. For gems when it comes to the scorpions you can get anywhere from around 70 to over 100, I know cause I did several runs. Best I got from them is 105 before gems dried up. I would suggest getting around 90 + then go back down the lift and use fly and kill enemies down that way for the rest when you get 125 use second controller L3+x to get the other trophy. For Orbs you have to use different glitch method just use fly and hover above the orb when timer gets to zero let one second elapse after zero and press x to land on the orb. If done correctly you can just press x to yes and continue. This still gives you 3 each time and once you reach 300 use second controller to L3+x to get the trophy for 600. Boom hope this helps anyone who is still trying to plat this.

So the ps4 version in Jak 3 got patched recently you cant do that thing with dark jak anymore, is there any other options trough debug menu to get the orb trophies ???

As of Dec 8 2021, there is still a way to do the orb glitch post-patch. As soon as timer starts, go to fly mode, hit 'restart mission', collect the orb while still in the air and then hit x to drop to the ground. SOLUTION FOR THE ORB PATCH 1.02: You don't need to do the L2 thing. 1-Activate the debug menu with the 2 combinations of buttons in the beggining of the video and go to your prefered orb farm location (I did it in the first spot mentioned on the video) 2-Go close the orb FLYING with L2+R2. DONT STOP FLYING UNTIL STEP 5. 3-Press start and restart mission 4- Pick the orb 5- Press X to land. It's important to press restart WHILE flying or the mission will just restart without the option of picking the orb.

This still work? Especially any new ways to get the orbs? Doing this 600 times sounds like way too much of a pain
