10 years ago?!?! I'm 16 now and this was the first game I ever played on my PS2, the light ego the dark ego the guns the rideable hover boards the story line, the donkey you can ride, the desert driving, the puzzles, this game was the best ever!!!!!
I realize this was a while ago but, wow you guys don't have to be such jerks about it, PS2 is cheaper than a PS3 mind you, and in my opinion the PS2 is way more worth it, in terms of game library, having the whole PS1 library helps too. All that being said he might have a PS3 now.
TransfusioN to be fair it depends on which ps3 you get (a 60GB ps3 and some 80GB models can play PS2 games) however like you said not everyone can afford a ps3 and realistically speaking it would be pretty stupid to spend shitloads of money on a console designed for newer gen games just to play an older gen game with slighter sharper graphics and textures. it'd be like spending money on a delivery van just to carry a single apple
DeathgGod i see you only made it half way through my comment, i also said what would be the point of buying an expensive PS3 just to play a game they can just as easily play on a dirt cheap PS2? He may have had a use for the full library of games that the PS4 & PC had to offer but was only interested in 1 game the PS3 had to offer which just so happens to be available on a much cheaper console.
I have so many great memories playing this game from Jak 2 to Jak 3. I love the storyline and the characters plus the available options it gives you. I was watching behind the scenes on this game and they said they may not make another Jak 4 because they didn't receive enough signatures from their fans which is sad. Also if you played Jak 3 do you know how the shield around the city collapsed and was there a plan to bring it up against the metal heads? Thanks to anyone who responds.
LG tovar They were going to but unfortunately it would have been a a realistic version of Jack AND Daxter thankfully they dropped it here is a link confirming this right out of Naughty Dogs mouth allforgamenews.com/2013/10/02/last-us-devs-originally-developing-jak-daxter-title
Yea I've seen those pics already, but it still puzzles me why they had to approach it from that realistic point of view. Look at ratchet and sly, they didn't look realistic last gen yet they looked great.
Look at Naughty Dog games after they stopped making Jack and Daxter games they made similar games but with realistic people I honesty do not believe Naughty Dog is stupid enough to go through with a realistic Jack and Daxter game I think the concepts just exist becasue of curiosity becasue of what the developer has evolved into I hope they are still passionate about the Jack and Daxter franchise ( Jason Rubin and his friend the creators of Jack and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot!
Jak II is really the hardest game I've ever played. I hate having to restart a mission every time I die, especially when doing car missions or anything involving grinding. If Jak 3 is any easier like everyone here says it is, then I might try it out.
Does it matter that much if I jump in the series with Jak 3? I have a PS2 and have Jak X Combat Racing, which is fuckin' awesome btw, and found out about this game when I saw the unlockable cars and stuff in the secrets shop.
It took me a couple months to beat Jak 2 on my first playthrough just out of sheer frustration. However, after playing through it again recently, I really appreciated the story and the challenge of the game and got a real sense of satisfaction when beating the game. There definitely needs to be more games like Jak 2
I've noticed this aswell, literally just finished Jak 2 on the HD collection. I completed It loads of times when It was originally released on PS2 and didn't remember It being so challenging, still a quality game though!
I think the element of frustration is more overwhelming in jak 2. The missions are similar to Jak 3 and not so complex but they are however a lot more tedious to complete.
just bought the collection two days ago have beat jak 1 and 2 an on three now, i'm loving it used to be one of my all time favorite game series. so much nastalgia as well.
"Because I'm... I'm... I'm a real hateful kind of guy and I... I get mad at games so easily that I've broken more controllers than I've drank a glass of water in my life..." holy fuck lol
I raged so much over jak II. I really don't like the vehicles but I think ill adapt to them eventually. I also like that its shorter. Jak II took too long to beat
Alex Gowland I am from the future of 2020 and protip, If you don’t make it this far, you wont be sorry. I just got a ps2 and this game, it looks great and really something to distract from reality falling apart.
Back then we didn't play so much so it looked longer and nowadays we finish everything in one day. I find the shortest games to be fps campaigns for obvious reasons.
sonic gets a little tuff, the first Gears of war was kinda hard but i mean ur right on psn they have that capcom arcade cabinet they had to put a casual mode on it what the heck.
well i was thinking if you go for 100% would take a while. I remember back when I was a kid, rushing the game to the end was literally 2-4 hours... Especially because you could skip half the places.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I thought I was being retarded for thinking that Jak II is hard... I actually believed that I am the only one who thinks that, and hate it because of the frustration it caused me. Took me almost a week of intense playing to get the platinum.
@cookieraider126 I don't know what verison of the game you were playing I had some problems with Jak 2 the difficulty was unblanced in that game. Even expert platformers told me they had problems with some missions in that game. The artifact at the water slums was the hardest for me because of those guards left and right and don't get me wrong I liked the diffcultly but some of these mission were very fustrating.
Jak 2 wasn't that hard you guys. There are maybe 2 or 3, maybe 4 missions that you can consider difficult. Jak 2 is the best in the serious IMO. Great action, platforming, story, level design, characters, and so on. Jak and Daxter I love to death when it came out. I just loved the open world design, but looking back at it now it was a bit too easy. Jak 3 had too much driving, the level design wasn't as great, and although it was cool to see some of the areas from Jak 2, it was too much ofthesame
I always prefered Jak II as I always loved Jak's badass feeling. In the first game he was quiet, a nice guy and wanted to help out. Jak II He just wants to find and kill the one who did this to him. The missions were difficult, which I loved. When I pick up a game I want a damn good challenge. Jak 3 had that but not AS much challenge as I wanted :)
This game's biggest problem is that it is too easy. Maybe its because i'm a veteran at these games who likes hard games but i'm dissappointed that i'm not dieing on every mission, multiple times.
@hypothesies1 You can, but it's best o play through it all honestly. Jak 3 is the crowning achievement of the series - but Jak 2 is close behind it. I personally didn't care that much for the first. The story is kind of important though. It's all one arc.
Jak&Daxter imo was the best because it had so much variety in levels: mountains, snow, lava, cities, villages. I didn't mind that it was easy because it was fun. Jak 2 was hard, yes, but it was so rewarding. It was kinda dull because it was mostly city, but I get what kind of tone they were going for. Jak 3 was my least favourite i think, just because i wanted the ending to tie back to the beginning when they came out.to this day remain some of the best ive ever played.
jak and daxter tpl was way too ez and was one of those games where if you know what to do, you could beat it in like 10 hours. jak II was one of the harder games i've ever played and every time you die... you gotta start the ENTIRE MISSION OVER! Where are the checkpoints? It was so frustrating jak 3: was a bit shorter but it was more like taking jak II and making it less frustrating. My fav of the series.
I remember Jak 2.I do remember some frustration but I found it fun throughout.Except for that mission where you have to destroy 5 hellcats.Fuck that mission
10 hours as well? Most games nowadays I complete the latest game in like 3-4 hours :L Fucking, CoD. 2-3 hours. Bioshock Infinite? Completed it in 2 sittings D: 3-4 hours? I'm so bad at pacing myself, I just want to progress all of the time because rich story is fulfilling
I got the J&D Collection a few days ago, so I just want to say one thing: Jak II is SO. F*CKING. HARD. I'm serious, I have never played a game that is so mind numbingly, unfairly difficult, that it makes me go batsh*t INSANE!!! But Jak 3 really made it better by toning it down a bit. :)
jak 2 was painfully hard on ps2 as a kid i was nearly in tears playing it lol but i beat and now that i have hd collection all 3 is like playing jak 1 XD 3 easy plattys.
That's an awfully ignorant statement. Some games are meant to have a story that unfolds with your help, some games revolve around gameplay, and some games are a mix of both. It's wrong to try to force all games to be the same in difficulty when they're going in different directions, for different audiences, conveying different senses of entertainment.
