Jak is and will always be my favorite character. His a badass with the heart of a hero but doesn't take shit from anyone, if ony naughty dog realized the gold and potential that this series has. Just imagine a new game with graphics similar to the new ratchet game it would be the shit, with new gun upgrades, powers and vehicles.
I don't think it was so bad. I just wish they'd put the time into justifying more of it. Like explaining what the deal with the Precursor stone in Jak II was and why Daxter was 'blessed' to touch Dark Eco. There's got to be more to it than that.
I get the feeling the precursor that came out of the precursor egg WAS daxter. Touching dark eco didn't give him a blessing, it was just undid the form given to him for the purposes of being jak's life long friend.
Kei Romenan that’s a good theory, but there are holes to it. The main goal in Jak and Daxter was to find a way to change him back by finding Gal, who then turned out to be the bad guy. Also it doesn’t explain how the precursor in Jak 2 wasn’t an otsel like Daxter.

Yeah I totally agree, Jak and Kingdom Hearts are those games that are very well-written, and will always stick with you no matter how old you get. You'll always hold those games dear to you

+Elite Custom Gamer dont kid yourself please. Its rare to see a god tier game on new systems. The only things new gen consoles have given us is better graphics and higher prices
+Elite Custom Gamer The consoles are better now yes, but the problem is 1: Companies try to hard for a hyper realistic look which gets really boring after the billionth time. Stylized cartoony animations like the Jak and Dater series would never be touched by developers today. And 2: While a good looking game is great, devs often make that their entire focus. A vast majority of games today are nothing but tech demos. Jak 3 may be an older gen, but as I said, the graphics still hold up as does the story, gameplay, and characters.

Jak 3 will always be my favorite out of the trilogy. 2004 was such an epic year in gaming. I also remember playing Jak 3 back when I was 15. I still like the action, adventure, fighting, and fun. Now I have all three of them and playing on PS3. Ahhh.... the good memories.
So I guess Jak (AKA MAR) was the Mar from the 2nd game. The Precursors probably took him back in time during the Metal Head/Darkmaker when he went into the ship with him. Then after he did what he had to do, he came back just after he left.
That is actually plausible, you don't actually know it's possible he was sent back in time to the start of the precursors, helped them build their history and then was sent back to the exact moment he left to remove it from his memory and make him think he stayed instead
I think ashelin saying jak was Mar at the end made everyone confused. She just assumed that but I personally think damos named jak Mar after the original mar.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - best game to start playing PS2 for me. Jak 2: Renegade - Great entertainment and very different from TPL. Jak 3 - Great, just great. It answered a few of all the questions fans had. Jak X - Also great, it's a nice way to remember all the stuff from the 2. game. Nice. I love the J&D series above anything, it has the best story in gaming I've ever seen. I just wish there was something to at least answer all remaining questions, a game, a website, a book...
Just now realized that jak's Name came from nowhere; jak literally got his name from his future self and everyone didn't catch that it wasn't even his real name.
I know it's all for plot reasons, but after recently re-playing II and 3, I can't help but have a slight grudge against Sig for not telling Jak about Damas. Sig even mentions at 39:43 that he was sent by Damas to go undercover as a spy in Haven in order to search for "a little something" he lost. And he was present during the Jak 2 ending, so I find it hard to believe he wouldn't have learnt about Jak being Mar. Again, I know it's all for plot reasons, just have this sense of frustration. xD
You need to understand that Sly 3 (Sucker Punch) and Jak 3 (Naughty Dog) were made a year apart from each other after barely a year went by when Jak II and Sly 2 were released. Both those games are fantastic and they add a lot of nice gameplay elements but at the same time its clearly a rushjob Haven City in Jak 3 is literally just a bunch of sealed off areas they didn't get the time to program in since the majority of the budget went into programming the Spargus Desert which is a glorified test map filled with half of the precursor orbs in the game because they wanted to beta test the level ground for Jak X
