I love how the animators are inspired by the voice actors' gestures and incorporate them in the video game. For example, like at 0:09. Both Dax and his voice actor have the same hand movements. Mike Erwin is and will ALWAYS be the better voice actor than Josh Keaton for Jak. A very bad ass voice I must say! Thanks for the upload!

+destinyawaitsx3 makes sense really, Erwin was chosen because of his role as the teenage Bruce Banner in the 2003 hulk movie, I guess Naughty Dog thought it'd make sense to have the hulk be the voice of someone who turns into a monster when he gets angry, and in an odd way it worked (odd in that Mike wasn't technically the hulk, he was just the guy who would eventually become the hulk). Josh Keaton on the other hand is known for being the voice of young hercules in the disney film (IMDB just says young hercules so i'm assuming they mean hercules as a baby o_O) and apparently Robin in Arkham Knight...hardly the darkest characters on the block...

destinyawaitsx3 check out disneys hercules on IMDB. it's not particularly clear so i'm just assuming young hercules means baby hercules since the other versions of him all sound the same, it's just the baby that sounds different. then again IMDB does say young hercules has a singing voice so maybe you're right, man this is confusing www.imdb.com/title/tt0119282/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm

***** He definitely played the part of teenage hercules. Because after he did voice work for jak and daxter the lost frontier, he went to voice young hercules in Kingdom Hearts birth by sleep. And we only saw teenage hercules in the game not the baby.

destinyawaitsx3 ah, I never read up on the kingdom hearts thing. But yeah my point still stands, Hercules and robin are hardly known as dark characters.

Hopefully, if Jak ever makes a comeback, they'll get Mike Erwin back! I love Joshua Keaton as a voice actor, just not as Jak

Loved this game as a kid, and still hold it up there as one of my favorite series. I had ZERO idea that Benny from the Sopranos was Daxter and what a shock that was aha.

I played this when it first launched on PS2, and I remember immediately noticing that Rayn 'inherited' Krew's "Ah...well....." during her introduction.

god if we ever got an animated series, i don't care how or on what service (be it tv or online streaming).. all id ask for was to have most of the original cast and writers (even though Jason Ruben and Andy Gavin are sort-of turds) be in charger.. the jak and daxter world is so got' dang fun even when the world isn't at defcon red like in jak 3

If they (Nintendo and some animation studio) do an animated _The Legend of Zelda_ movie, maybe they should have a teensy bit younger version of Mike Erwin's Jak voice for Link and maybe have Max Casella's Daxter voice for Tingle.

@「Sexy Zombie Roo。」ʕʘ‿ʘʔ Yep. Plenty of voice actors have a theatrical background, so they do incorporate some of their stage performances into the characters they voice to help sell the tone of voice and inflections. Which is why they incorporate the physicality as well as the vocal performance.
