JD Africa Like women don't get objectified.. They get objectified more than men so I think it isn't that bad if they just are excited that he's single. Guys only ever like me for my looks and people think I should see that as a compliment but I hate it since I want people to like me as a person. That's why I've become really insecure and shy, cause most people never liked my personality cause I was quiet and I never really had friends. I've been catcalled on the street since I was 10 already by actual adult men, it was really annoying but also kinda scary. I've also been stalked by a group of guys once, they actually ran after me and when I was seeking help they literally hid in the bushes and guess what people's reactions were when I came back in panic..? "Don't worry, they're just flirting with you.", "You should be glad that guys find you that attractive!" and "Isn't that a compliment though? You should see it as a good thing!" Like literally everyone gave 0 fucks about that I was followed everywhere by a group of older guys when I was 15, that hid when I was with people (which is really suspicious). I was really scared that I was gonna get harrased or even raped if I didn't stay in public places and you find it so bad that some women cheered when Jake said he was single. I get that a lot of guys also get really objectified but you shouldn't look at every little thing like that, it's not really that big of a deal since it was only the women that were there, cause personally I think that he's single and that he played in a musical was equally interesting, so just so you know, not every woman is like that.
I'm so sorry to hear all that. I know that couldn't have been easy for a 10yo girl. but. like. read my comment again and show me where exactly i used the phrase "every woman is like that". my point was merely that he was brought to the show to promote this play and yet all that Ellen (a professional) wanted to talk about was how attractive he is. Surely, with your pst, you can understand how frustrating that must have been for him...... And for the record I've been catcalled like that by both men and women, but that's okay because I'm a guy, right?
Yeah, but I think in this case he misunderstood Ellen. She was talking about his body because he needed to change his physique and it was a huge change, muscle-wise. Actors who change their bodies for a role always impress people by their dedication.
DonPascquale maybe it’s a cultural difference in the perception of awkward? I’m American and just the way he says things comes off as awkward but in an endearing way
love how he kinda called out Ellen and the audience for only caring about his fit bod and the fact that he's single. all actors deal with it, not just women!
@@ziggy512 No, he means because the audience got more excited about him looking good and being single than him having a good role. Sure it's fine to compliment someone for looking good, but that's not everything someone should care about in a person. Success and their heart should also matter, and in those moments it didn't seem like they cared about those things. Ya know what I mean?
"how to objectify men 1o1: how can such a* beautiful* man be single" because apparently looks matter the most, and its not about him finding someone he likes but getting someone he can take?? you can be literally the single most perfect human being and STILL be single, simply because you haven't found someone YOU want to be with.
Jake is one beautiful and intelligent guy, but it did upset me some when the main focus didn't actually seem to be on his work but more about his love life and things he obviously didn't really seem to want to be taken a certain way idk
I mean, this is a daytime talk show, so we’ve come to expect that from daytime talk shows. ...but maybe we shouldn’t expect things as they currently are. Perhaps we should expect more from our daytime talk shows. More depth even.
Thanks 😊 so much amazing fan your words are so accurate and according. Thanks so much for all your unending support and sincerity. Where are you watching from....?
the way he calls out Ellen for being superficial and talking about his physique instead of his acting skills, the way he cals out the audience for caring about his relationship status instead of his musical... he is a genius.
I came to the comments to check on the cyberbullying 😆 this is the first line I thought of too when he said he takes girls to his mom's house on the first date.
0:50 Jake being single Crowd : OOOOHHHHHH 1:54 Jake doing musical Crowd : perfunctory applause Jake : "there is less enthusiasm about that than that i'm single" He's just too cuteeeee 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
+Carlos Montilla he is bi for saying he is a Good looking man? Dude. He was just stating the obvious! Jake is hot! You don't need to be attracted to him to see that...
Writing a song means with the musical arrangements and lyrics.. While lyrics is just half of the writing process in a song and jake wasn't confused, he was right about it...
By choice. He looks like a good guy, but I betcha a hundred bucks this guy has snorted some cocaine off a hooker's ass before. Pretty sure he's the next George Clooney in the making.
Angela KR I think cause it's really hard for actors to find love since so many women only like him for his fame, looks and money and the ones that are famous and rich like him there in Hollywood, are most of the time bitches and the ones that are not, are already in a relationship.. Kinda sad, I bet it's really hard to trust someone that isn't famous but the ones that are famous are all assholes unlike him.
Amysw9 Yea you are right. Most people have a mental image of a celebrity, he/she may look like a very fun and frolic type person, but in reality, he likes quiet. So when expectations don't match reality, people say bad things about them.
This is such a good interview! Honestly. Some others are just plain boring. This one was very entertaining like Chris Hemsworth's. And I love it that Jake gave an insight to what he was thinking about when he randomly laughs in the middle of the conversation... Love ya, Jake! Hopefully I'll bump into your mum someday and impress her or something.
this guy is simply one of the best actors ever not only in the movies but he's got a great character and charisma , he just is so natural and simple and that what makes me this special
rewatching this- this guys is adorable- and he is an amazing actor! while im like "wowie hes so attractive" im also like "wOWIE HIS ROLES ARE RLY COOL" win win for this guy
Red, All Too Well, and We Are Never Getting Back Together are about Jake. Three songs, Jake. Wow. Taylor usually doesn't write that many about one person...you must've been special.
But Jake was right though. There’s more to writing songs than just the lyrics. You have to write the actual notes of the instruments they are using and then there’s the production part of it too. Ellen was making Jake sound like he was dumb for saying he didn’t write the song 😒😒😒
It is pretty awesome how genuine he is answering his questions. He seems like a nice guy. His mother must make it hard for him to meet girls though. Which is sad.
Omg, his so down to earth. He knows that acting is more than just good looks, acknowledges that even still looks is a big part of this culture, and yet has the decency to laugh and show a great sense of humor. That is why he is the hottest actor outthere
