ABOUT BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" follows the exploits of hilarious Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and his stoically ever-professional captain, Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), along with their diverse, lovable colleagues as they police the NYPD's 99th Precinct. In this final season of the series, Jake and the squad must try to balance their personal lives and their professional lives over the course of a very difficult year.
Rounding out the ensemble is Sgt. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumera), who has a passion for organization and a weakness for dork dancing; Lt. Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), a mountain of a man whose most powerful muscle is his sweetheart; Jake's best friend and human puppy dog, Det. Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio); and the incredibly secretive, tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz). Also part of the Nine-Nine are veteran officers Det. Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Det. Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), whose only skill as police officers is their ability to make a passable pot of coffee.
Created by Emmy Award-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" won the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical (Samberg). Emmy winner Braugher earned four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Capt. Holt.

Listen, the best thing about this proposal is that Jake had confidence in Amy figuring it out, he knew her too well and he knew she's smart enough to even notice the dust patterns. This. This is what every woman wants.

Because Jim and Pam were not written to be perfect, they were literally written to have friction at times. You can tell that they were bored of that by now and wanted to make Jake and Amy purely joy to watch. It's all just made up for TV anyway lol, it's not deep.@@nomerespondaselcomentario

Honestly I love how stable their relationship is after they started dating(ik initially it’s a bit rocky)u know those trope in sitcoms when protagonists date and split up constantly like literally every season lol which eventually bored tf out of audience, yeah Jake and Amy have conflicts but it’s not for the sake of drama it all makes sense and feel natural and in the end it still works out

Same! When I saw them getting together so early I was annoyed because I was expecting all of this to happen, but they actually grow and learn and love each other. If you also add the detail that Jake said the heist was all that was keeping him sane in prison, it means the proposal was what motivated him to go through in a situation where he was risking his life, it's even more heartwarming! 😭 I thought I'd hate them and instead I love every second of them.

I know righttt Before watching b99 I knew about the characters and I knew jake and Amy end up together but I really thought it would be an on again off again situation like most sitcoms which was kinda putting me off. I was so fucking amazed at the actual thing and I love it

This is the best proposal I have ever seen in a show by absolute miles. I really cannot think of one that even comes close. Normally I don't even really enjoy proposals. Michael and Holly's from the office was pretty nice but man in comparison to this it's nothing. They'd spent four whole seasons showing how much this heist meant to everyone, especially Jake, and here he uses it all as a ploy to give Amy the perfect proposal. The switch from Amy's devote competativeness to realising what just happened is brilliant, her immidiately panicking that it's just part of the heist is the icing on top.

My only note on this is Jake got his wording wrong. He should’ve said “This isn’t part of the heist. In fact, I’ve hijacked the heist to lead everyone in different directions and result in this here, which is in fact the _true_ ending of the heist, where you and I are alone, with you reading that inscription and me doing this.”
