Jakhoi and Khaloi - Khaloi Making 

Jakhoi and Khaloi is Design Resource From IIT Guwahati. Assam has an agrarian economy. Bamboo, due to its abundant availability, is used by people in innumerable ways - like for building homes, bridges, household products, and fancy decorative items. Khaloi (also called 'Kanyamur' in the local language) is one of the most commonly used fishing accessories in Assam. It is a small conical-shaped pitcher. It is mostly used by the locals to keep fish during hand-net fishing. Bamboo species called 'Bijuli' is used for weaving while making Khaloi.
