Mark my words. There will come a day when Jakub's name will be spoken by the average person in the same breaths as Petrucci and Thordendal. It's a privilege watching such a unique and amazing talent emerge. Not to mention, REALLY looking forward to the new album now.
You have been my favorite guitarist since I found your solo tracks three or four years ago, and you continue to put out the highest quality and deepest music I've ever heard. Thank you so much Jakub.
You're one of the few modern guitarist that really know how to hitting the RIGHT note (instead of hitting a bunch of notes like most modern metal guitarist these days). Also i've seen your improvisation videos: brilliant phrasing, brilliant vibrato/bend/slide techniques, and you seems to have a much more relaxed and 'groovy' approach than most 'djentlemens' these days.
I can confidently say that Disperse is one of my top anticipated albums this year. I've been following you for a while now, stoked about the release! I love your unpredictability. Cheers
Please make more videos of you jamming! I dare say they are even better than your demo! I mean in the way it is cool to watch you play with great feel, as well as to hear it! Dobre bardzo
I used that for recording some typical acoustic parts on the album mostly, but as far as I remember, there are some parts on which I'm mixing the clean sound with the piezo. It sounds pretty amazing!
i think the MAIN difference between Jakub and other 'djent' guys is: Jakub is basically a jazz/fusion guitarist who then expand his musical influences into metal/prog/djent music, while most djent guys are basically metal guitarists who tried to incorporate the elements of jazz/fusion/prog into their metal stuff. So that's why Jakub sounds way more mature & natural at lead playing compared to most djent guys. Sorry bad english lol.
I understand how you feel because Jakub's playing is really something else but it's important to find your own sound and play like yourself. The best thing to do is to search for music in places you wouldn't normally look. You'd be surprised how cool and enjoyable you'll find things to be when you keep an open mind. I'll leave you with an array of guitarists that you might dig. Feodor Dosumov, Wayne Krantz, Allan Holdsworth, Guthrie Govan, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tim Miller, Ben Monder. Good luck
Im not a "djent" guy at all, and I must say, I love your music. A lot of those clowns miss the point, and you obviously don't. Very kickass, and I really enjoy listening to your stuff.
So good--the music and the playing. Love the album. Jakub, you play with a natural fluidity and passion that's a so fun to hear and watch. I see some influences but your music is so much your own. Hope you have even more success (and tour to San Francisco).
Jakub's talent is appreciated by great guitarists such as Tom Quayle, Jason Becker, Misha Mansoor, Paul Wardingham, Wes Hauch (The Faceless), Lee McKinney (Born of Osiris)
Thank you! When we'll know the exact date of release, we will let you know! Just follow our facebook page. And yes, we would love to come to Australia one day!
YOU'RE FUCKING AMAZING!!!! everything from your Vibrato to that dot above the Z just rocks my world man - and im a picky guy!! you kick so much ass dude, i love you!
+1 He claims to not know much about theory, but his writing talent is far beyond the writing talent of so many guitarists. Most guitarists you see are focused on theory, technique and improvising. That being said, Jakub is showing some great potential with writing. Keep going bro! More videos would be great too ;P
just ordered a mystic dream jp7....all because of this vid and your other black&white one. Pretty funny how like 4 minutes of riffing made me spend $2000
your Demo stuff really blew my mind. i dare to say: better than Animals as Leaders. you're one of the few modern guitarist who successfully incorporates jazz/fusion into progressive/metal. this is just my opinion though
Hey I'm 11 years late and not sure if you will even see this comment, but any chance we can get a full playthrough of your solo off Universal Love? IT's kind of an end goal with my guitar lessons to be able to eventually play that, and want to get started now...
You obviously never listen to classic fusion/jazz-rock based guitar music if you can't hear their influence in Jakub's playing, even Jakub admit that he's highly inspired and influenced by those players. I can hear some Greg Howe influences in his phrasing and rhythmic approach (listen to 0:39 for example)
do you ever use the piezo for your clean riffs? your vids have me about to pull the trigger on a standard JP7. Love the aggressive mids from the basswood!
Yo i just wanted to say u r truly a phenomenally talented dude! Btw I love the synth layers, I was wondering what program/plugin/vsts you use or you would recommend, Thanks a bunch!
"your thoughts on Jakub Żytecki ? to be honest i think he has the most mature sound among all space-prog/djent/whatever these days.. you should do a collaboration with him!" smile iambulb : He will probably be the new Guthrie by the time he is Guthrie's age. Scary talent, would love to jam with him aka trick him into giving me free guitar lessons someday! Misha likes you a lot man! You're very talented! keep going!
