Chicken Curry
Ingredients
Chicken 1-1.5 kg
Tomatoes 3
Onion 1 big
Ginger paste 2 tbsp
Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Geeen chilies 1-2
Oil 1/2 cup
WHOLE SPICES:
Black peppercorns 5-6
Cinnamon sticks 1-2
Green cardamoms 4
Bay leaves 2
Cloves 3-4
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
POWDERED SPICES
Salt to taste
Red chili powder to taste
Paprika powder 2 tsp (if not using red chili powder)
Turmeric powder 3/4 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 2 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Preparation
Blend tomatoes into paste using little water. Transfer to a bowl.
In the same blender add onion, ginger, garlic and green chilies and blend into a paste. keep aside.
In pressure cooker, add oil and whole spices. Saute for a minute and add onion paste.
Cook until the raw smell goes off.
Add powdered spices and saute for a minute.
Now add tomato paste and cook until the oil separates from the gravy.
At this time, add chicken and saute on heat for a few minutes until the top of the chicken turns white.
Put 1 cup of water and pressure cook until done.
Garnish with fresh coriander.
Enhoy with roti or boiled rice.
