Jali Saikou Jobarteh, Bronx, 1990, Part 1 

In 1990 I had the good fortunate of meeting Jali Saikou Jobarteh. I was researching musicians and performers who lived in the Bronx for a 1990 concert series called "In the Tradition: Black Music from the Bronx" that I organized for the Bronx Council on the Art. I recorded Jali Saikou on March 4, 1990. There's a clicking sound on the original cassette recording. The photos--poorly-scanned slides--are by Martha Cooper.
