It's a breeding science bro... If the bull is strong enough to throw the bunch of men away then that particular bull will be assigned for breeding...So that the calf will be healthier and the milk from the cow will be as good and rich as our mother's...

Yes these ppl are very brave, most ppl from south Tamil Nadu are in Indian military...which makes Indian military deadliest man power military in the world...
I have heard that in the olden times (before urbanisation), lasses (especially the beauties of the village) used to rear these bulls with a view to marrying the man who overpowers her particular bull. So, it was not just a selection of best bovine genes, but human genes too!
I thought it is still like that in some parts. But i heard a little different story that if a boy wins, it becomes easy for him to ask girl's father for her hand. So that was in the past. But yeah it was a nice tradition.
More than 100000 peoples inthat ptotest all over Tamilnadu and also many tamil form forging countries they also protest in other nations like us uk dubai
Come to India... Especially for Tamilnadu and Various places at the time of January 14,15,16 Madurai..([Alanganallur] Famous place for Jallikattu)There is a special stand for foreigners ...U will njoy it in live....
Jally kattu - jally means small scrambled things kattu means tie. Hence small scrambled silver gold substance been tied on horns of the bull .By the way name came jally kattu .so guys try to remove those substance from the horns of the bull if they remove they will the winner this is very old tradition of Tamils which depicts the Manlism of the guy and bull .... .
Thank you for reacting to this 😅FYI...the Jallikattu bulls can be of two types... sprinters and fighters...this depends on the generic ability and the way it was trained...the sprinter bulls sprint at God speed and the player has to travel by holding it's hump for atleast 30 metres to win the reward...The fighter bulls are the clever ones...they have insane reflexes...they don't sprint... instead they stay near the gates and dance around...the players should withstand atleast three rotations by holding it's hump to get the reward...Not more than one player is allowed to get hold of a bull at a time...and they are not allowed to hold the tail or horns of the bull...And scientifically...Jallikattu is a kind of breeding science...conducted to preserve the indigenous species and to identify the bulls with superior genetics...🙏🏻
This came original name is yeru thazhuvuthal. Jallikkattu is new name. Salli means coins , kattu means package. So coins package is sallikkattu. Sallikkattu called jallikkattu.
Yes it is related here , we all know after Indus valley civilization only Tamil nadu practising jalikattu till now , jalikattu means coin package right . That coin package were tied in between the fore head and horn of bulls , so that participants can take it by taming the bull .
We all know how dangerous jalikattu was and it is one of ancient game . jalikattu was originally about breeding but after thousands decades , the games lossed its own rule and systema . Hence This game was long lastly practiced differently in different regions 1. in some place as a bet match , 2. in some places taming a bull is symbol of bravery , bride's espect thier husband to be brave and muscular to that mens voluntarily participated , in match . 3. In some place as a ritual
Firstly I would like to thank you for this amazing reaction😍 And here is something you don't know The derivation of the name jallikattu Jalli(சல்லி) - coin Kattu(கட்டு) - tied This name is because they used tie a pouch of coin in bulls neck as a reward It is a pure breeding science for both the bull and man A bull which is capable of dragging a man on his hump for some distance will be selected for breeding and other will be sent to farming A man who is brave enough to get on those hump and travel along the bull will also get some rewards(jalli-coins) Before it was a qualification the father in law would expect his son in law should be a winner in jallikattu
Thanks man. Jallikattu is a very important part of Tamils life. And it's kinda Tamils Pride. It has a very long history. PETA without any idea try to ban it. This whole situation kinda became controversial because people who have no idea about Tamil people and their history started giving their opinion. Kudos to you for sensitive short brief. 🙏🏻😎
@@Yeahitsme101 it's true. How means, first sound, shout , then words formed through expressions and a language (Tamizhi) born in a place, all could have been taken this much years. After one language borns other languages formed and modified easily one by one.

Strength and Love...two essence of the Tamilian civilization... Bull hugging is carried from Harrappans...There is an Indus Valley seal showing the exact bull hugging scene
This is a tradition of tamilnadu to tame the bulls, men’s in tamilnadu are called kaliar ,which means bull , we are proud to be Tamils , Tamil is the know oldest and still a spoken language .
தமிழன் டா 💪 ( Tamilan da).... The KING 👑 and MOTHER of all LANGUAGE and CULTURE.... thank you @dad's den for upload this video you make us proud for all Tamil people's
This is part of biggest festival in Tamil Nadu, we call "Thai Pongal", that we are celebrating for the next 4 days. The time we pay respect to nature for the harvesting & allow bulls (integral part of harvest) to play with its all mighty with human. If you had chance to visit Tamil Nadu, around mid of January, try to see this festival game. Not as sports, that's why men are not even allowed to ware any protection, notice the people are in barefoot too, that the sign of respect, as in most culture, while praying people will be barefoot. And by rule only one person is allowed to tackle the bull at a time, but out of chaos & men competing each other's turn to attend the bull, you may see more person over the bull temporarily. Rule is grasp the bull for 10 sec(colloquially we say "show your affection by hugging") or ride away the bull off the arena, so other bulls can be released. Sometimes when the bull is completely confused and not leaving the arena, then armature men will try to rope the bull to show the exit way out of arena. As it is not a sports, the player are not paid, expect just on-the-day prize money, and never been trained or nurtured for health. In contrast, in fact the bulls are highly trained & specially nurtured & groomed all over the year. That's the way to keep the bull for breading. But those player usually discouraged by the family not to take part & never given special nurturement even on that day. Remember the play will be for the whole day with 100s of bulls entering arena one by one, and those brave men will have to maintain their stamina & agility. Most of the time they take many breaks in between, but still its like a fully energy loaded bull & exhausted men. If you notice the bull here in Tamil Nadu, the horn are perfectly shaped to point in front of its head, which is not the case with other bull breads we can see in Spain bull(horn are wide apart) and in US Rodeo bulls bread(horns are very short & curved back). In that sense I feel it is even more dangerous to tackle the bull, as its horn is in perfect position to defend or attack.
I appreciate you reviewing jallikattu 2018 man. It's a 3000 year old tradition in our culture. It's been recorded as one of the earliest sports in our civilization. It's called "yaeru thazhuvudhal" in Thamizh. It's literally translated " hugging the bull". It's an act of bravery and like all dangerous sports,it might turn fatal too. But we as people thought it was wrong of an American organization to sensitise jallikattu as a sport which harms the bull, whereas the truth lies in the total opposite direction. The bull which is bred for jallikattu competitions around tamilnadu will be of the highest lineage, usually from around that region. So the bull is worshipped and bred with utmost care and would sire many offsprings during the course of its life. PETA an organization funded by corporate companies which want to interfere in developing countries' agrarian sector. The Jallikattu bull - the native cattle breed of southern India is known for it's large hump on its back. This cattle breed suits south India. But these companies want to bring in high milk yielding jersey cows and destabilize the native cattle breed here. This is why there was a revolution which reinstated "The Jallikattu " back in 2017.
Hi dan.... Thanks for showing... Our traditional sports which is happening for last 3000yrs... Which we have record for this sport...frim our epics. This sport is carried out during our Tamil New Year. Thanks
There will live telecast of jallikatu 2020 during Pongal (harvest festival) in youtube also..don't miss it... we'll usually watch it the whole day by eating sugarcane and Pongal(sweet dish made usually on that day) and the only day we'll be ( most of the urban youths) wearing traditional dress ( dhothis and shirt) ..people would love to see you in our traditional dress and ur reaction to jallikatu.
Dad..the best part of the protests to bring back jallikattu was there were thousands and thousands who gathered...women also participated in huge numbers but not a single incident of molestation or misbehaviour by men inspire of girls staying back during nights in middle of huge crowds...when rapes were happening all around the country this made us really proud...
Proud to be a part of the History of our Tradition #Jallikattu🔥🔥🔥🔥 During the time of 2017'Jan. Jallikattu protest. Unforgettable life time memory❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪💪 Thnq for react to this video "Dad" 🤞
Above all, just want to inform u. Tamil is the world's oldest language.. This is not just a game and it's a culture were the entire state stood for the jallikatu.
*Thank you respecting our culture. But as a Vegan and as someone with keen passion for animal rights I would like to state that I support Jallikattu. Because if that was going to be banned, the dairy industry is going to become completely industrialized with cows being confined into factory cages for life, separated from their calves and artificially inseminated. Our Tamizh ancestry was much more scientific and humane than us. From the food they ate to drawing kolam in front of the home ever morning. It was all about nature and living a healthy happy life.*
Jallikkattu- Traditional Tamil Cultural Activity to prove the men's bravery and also it's breeding science to choose the best bull for breeding, happens during ThaiPongal Festival -Mid January.
That sport is good for the bulls , we dont kill or torchure them . It's like a picnic for the humble beasts , it happens once in a year and you know the facts , this sport was in practice from ages and these bulls are the strongest and give better off springs than other breeds who eat and sleep . It's the poor humans who try to stop them gets hurt , this is a simple game in English " Stop the bull and dont harm the bull " .
