Jingle package from JAM Productions called Power Station. This features a 7 member sung package for WPLJ Philadelphia, as well as a 5 member package for WCAU. Also heard are Larry Berger of WPLJ and Scott Walker of WCAU
Such amazing memories of this package. I was in the USAF in 1986, stationed in Dover, DE. WCAU FM came through super clearly in Dover. The station had such an amazing sound and played incredible music including a lot of dance tracks that weren't getting play elsewhere. I remember one night in July of 1986 driving late at night to NYC...and hearing the CAU jingles on Power 95, albeit with the different calls. I was blown away! A month later, Hot 103 launched and I found myself spending a LOT of time in both Philly and NYC that summer! Love it!
Yo hearing those old WPLJ Power 95 1986 jingles was super wild plus it made me remember the time when i was a kid listening to Power 95 back in 1986 these jingles are making my head spin LOL :) I see why they have different versions of the WPLJ Power 95 jingles because it allows the radio station to use different versions of the WPLJ Power 95 jingles between the songs they play. I get it now. :) #WPLJPower95Era :)
Isn't about the way it's segways from a particular track or a particular cut in segways to yet another program source whether it be used a slow song a fast song maybe the weather God only knows but there's so many ways to lead in drop-in quick the station ID and Segway out slow and something Nice n easy or you can start up fast with all kinds of excitement and just shoot for the stars and drop into something hot and heavy and just roll out of it that way
ALL I want to know is WHO did the voicing for this demo? He did the news open and closes in the 80s and 90s for WAGA TV Channel 5 In Atlanta ! I would reconize that voice anywhere !!!
WPLJ New York...soon to no longer be a commercial station...and about to be part of the expanding non-commercial, contemporary Christian K-Love empire.
I'm sure Jam would re sing these with Jesus is Power, Jesus is love, or whatever K-Love would like them to. They are very good, even when you think it won't sound right, they just seem to find a way to make it work.
