That lash adjustment really should've been done by the machine shop. I won't even start a VJ until I have the cams caps and buckets in my hand. I don't even agree with setting the tips to where they came in at, because there's no guarantee that they were in spec beforehand

With these engines being interference you run the risk of bending the valves, checking lash with the head on the block.

When putting on the cams none of the valves are open right ?
