Awesome story! Congrats Cashh for your hard work. Very inspiring and motivating, i would keep listening to you and never get bored. Keep up your wonderful work. I'm happy you're back in UK to continue your wonderful work. God richest continuous blessings on your successful journey. Thanks Winford for bringing this story. My time is well spend!
The British authorities, was callous in deporting Cashh in the first place, because, he was a child when he came to England. Therefore, he was not responsible for overstaying in England. Nice to know that Cashh, didn't give up on his dream once he w as deported to Jamaica...he remained focus. All the best Cashh! God bless you 🙏🏽
England abuse all the colony's thats its own rob them then through us under the bus no good .Just like what they did to Africa the richest continent know they are the poorest .
Excellent interview- Shows that great things can come out of every disappointment. Also very good in outlining the reality of a Jamaican living in England. Keep your originality . Well done.
What surprises me how this man speaks patios. Some people leave Jamaica to England for 2or 3 year and them gwaan like a deh dem them born to rahtid. Fowl never see eggs🤣🤣
Born Jamaican but, I have to speak proper English for work. Proper English, which was taught to me IN JAMAICA. I SPEAK AND CAN WRITE PATIO VERY, VERY WELL. WHEN I COME HOME, MI CHAT LIKE ANY JAMAICAN.
Very intelligent young man. I love listening to the easy way he would transition from perfect British English to perfect Jamaican English to perfect patois.
This was very enlightening as i lived in England too Brixton not far from Peckham where he lived. Of course he is a younger version of me but i knew all he was saying. Well spoken young man. My son who i lost there wiuld have been 48yrs now he was born there so i know the generation. I am glad he made it back. He would by his talking he is not stupid if you stupid you cant live in the Uk. Not on queenie's soil.
The Jamaicans in England does not give up their Jamaicans culture but the Jamaicans in America give us their Jamaicans culture that is the difference between the British and the USA
A them youth help formulate the whole uk rap and road man scene he was on course to be one of the biggest thing he had a song with Giggs at like 15 yrs old and was signed to Columbia by 18 but the system tried to play him. Glad that he didn’t give up and was able to overcome..big yuh bat enuh Cashhtastic
The interviewer asks about Jamaicans. Jamaicans been influencing us here for decades. I grew up in the 90s around Jamaicans. They created nuff music genres here in the 90s. They brought us ska and dancehall back in the 60s/70s. Then in the 80s/90s they made UK hip hop, Lovers Rock, Jungle, DnB, ,UK Garage, Grimey Garage, and now afro-swing etc We have one of the biggest carnivals here in the world for Jamaican Independance. We even have a dialect here heavily based on patwa called Multicultural London English, now know as Multicultural British English as its now spread out. All us white and asian kids used patwa growing up. How Jamaican not know about how Jamaica has influenced us in UK?
Because this interviewer didn't grow up as an in the street Jamaican and only benefit from being called one. He himself, don't even understand the level of influence Jamaica has on the world because those Jamaicans are the poorer class people. He is americanized, you can hear the way he speaks
Winford's interviewing and listening skills remain poor even after 100 years of doing the same job. How? What a travesty! Thank God this guy was able to carry thr interview with an interesting story.
@@davidfbrush I’m fully aware of the Windrush Scandal and many that were stuck in Jamaica and couldn’t return to Britain, I think it was last year an elderly woman finally allowed back in Britain her daughter fought for her return. . My family migrated from Jamaica to Canada when I was a child, my parents made sure our landed immigrant papers were in order followed by our citizenship papers. It’s the responsibility of the sponsoring adults or parents to make sure that’s all that’s done, the child cannot do it on their own. My mother came here as a domestic worker like many others, we followed years later. Lots of ppl I grew up with were deported as adults their paper work was never taken care of.
With his intelligence, determination, aspiration and cute looks he will go far. His Manager will see to it that he will link up wid the Best Artist in Jamaica and travel the world. WELL DONE CASH👌🏾
I love your story it was so interesting to now that could happen my parents came to canada year go so came when i was your age i miss out on jamaica but to made there keep good work one 💘
He's absolutely right. Jamaica needs to get more involved with British artist. They will ve very surprised that they have more I'm common, in terms of thier culture and musical influences. Cash is also talking from experience having been in the UK for many many years, he's absolutely right. In regards to music, knowledge is great. Intelligent young man..❤💛💚🙏🏾
Not until the UK pay the people repatriation for the destruction they caused and left behind. Some members of government have petitioned the UK for that.
@@eileenwatt8283 I don’t think they talking about the white British leaders who Inslaved the black people , I believe he is talking about working with the black British artist ..
Cashh is a very articulated young man who is showing the young people that no matter what life throws at you. There is a way out. Cashh has been an srtist from young 🔥 🔥 🔥
White kids here in Britain 🇬🇧 as well as other nationalities, such as Asians, Arabs and even Africans (who are now more prominent here than Jamaicans) they constantly buss patois
I am not going to say his parents was careless with not applying for him to get his stay in UK. We don't know what situation his parents was in and why they could not get him his stay. He have done well for himself and he continues to do so. I know alot of people saying good job. But I don't hear anyone saying they will try to reach out to this young man to see if he need anything. The big artist them in JA should reach out to him as well. This young man have done wonderful. He returned home to JA and doing well for himself. Not like some that returned to JA and become worthless with killing and robbing people. Follow the footsteps of this young man. Love this story...JA is home 🏡💓💗💖hope me and my family can meet him...
Not careless at all and I’m speaking from experience. If you weren’t married or had a child that’s a British citizen it’s very difficult to get your ‘stay’. Home office will turn your application down for the smallest reason most things is left to their discretion. To add to this it takes £’s to do all this. He is very very and I mean extremely lucky they overturned their decision.
Parent's very careless to leave such a thing unsettled. There many parent's whom have done the same thing. Nice looking young man, spoke well hope he does well in his life. So whom are in this position either the children or parent try sort it out. Because you know that they don't need us, or want us here anymore. They used our parents and grandparents already to build back there country. Lol 😂🤣 must be a culture shock returning back after all these year's. When I went there as a child I almost had a heart attack, the not much light's so much disability people at the airport Kingston begging. It was rough my dad smoking so hard that night 🌃 in November 1982😆😆😆. But Jamaica has come a long way, and building 🏢 lovely apartment's, and home's also. Good interview as alway's Winford.👍🏿😂😂😂🤗🇬🇧🇯🇲
I Felt for him it was not his fault it was his parents. He is ambitious and talented hard working young Man handsome looking Lad . I wish him all the success in life God Bless
God keep Cashh under your care..good things for him always. Like what he said in this interview-he is paying it forward, especially since he has experienced-the life he has. Keep up the great work🇯🇲🇬🇧💯!
Great track Cash ,one people ,one love , red ,one color blood , one race the human race. Great creativity, revelation and elevations and collaborations
It’s obvious that as a result of his level of awareness and intelligence he was able to appeal and defend his position, thus concluding his reinstatement to England as a legitimate immigrant, blessing youth 🇯🇲🙏🏾🌎
@@Trappinaintdead641 then you can accept tbe fact that you heard that about the Bronx🤔 Seward Avenue is recognised🌅⏰ Brooklyn is a larger Jamaica population because most people migrate there snd would get to rent housing and sccess to Jamaican familiar foods etc in the 60s and the next generation that was sent for or born in U.S. express their creativity through food, music, art or get them education or join posses etc⏰😷
There has to be a genesis to everything. Jamaican sound system scene was pivotal, however, there were many others involved also in the early development of rap. GrandMaster Flash, to name just one. Joseph Saddler (born January 1, 1958), popularly known by his stage name Grandmaster Flash, is a Barbadian-American DJ and rapper. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of hip hop DJing, cutting, scratching and mixing. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming the first hip hop act to be honored. In 2019 he won the Polar Music Prize.
As Jamaicans, we need to learn of our rights as a Citizen, and what part does England play in that role. Our constitution, and why we have a Privy Council, hence why do we have a Government General? Someone please educate me, as mi come from Country...We shouldn't have to be treated so badly by the British Government to deport someone who has left the Island as a baby...so unfair..
An intelligent young man he is. Just found out about him on CVM in the morning about 2 weeks ago and they played the “Return of the Man” video. Now I got to get a deeper look into who he is as a person. Cashh you are doing great work and are talented. Keep it up 👍🏽
Back in the 90s emcees initially rapped in US accent but that became seen as shameful quick and kinda like sell out. So along came Black Twang and London Posse and dem use a British accent. Even Lee Ramsey switched up his American accent to British.
Good job Cashh. Glad you’re up and running and can move freely between the UK and Jamaica. I’ll definitely go & check out your music. 🙏🏾Winford’s energy and vibe was off..he keeps pushing this Americanized Jamaica which is false. Nonsense.
Cashh, in the mid 90s, I became the most prominent female selectah within the spectrum of UK Hip hop and Dancehall reggae, a pioneer of strictly underground (at the time) Independent UK Hip Hop on the radio and in clubs (NO US) in the early to mid 90s and was always pushing for UK Rappers to link with Jamaican artists. But when I used to tell the youts from the UK that they needed to go home to their country and stay for a while to re-root themselves in the culture and collaborate with artists (especially those that came to the UK as children that I used to work with and manage like Mr Williamz aka Kool Kat, Tubby 'T' (RIP), Bongo Kanny and Roots Manuva to name a few), because they had a choice they were always reluctant to do so, therefore missing out on the very opportunity that you have had (albeit by force of fate). I am soooOOO happy and elated to see that this vision I had over two decades ago has finally come true in the person of the young CASHH... Represent mi yout!... I am NOT Jamaican born but my spirit has always been deeply rooted in Jamaica through; like yourself, family connections, sound system culture and my affiliation with the streets of West London as a female Hip hop Dancer from the early 80s and 90s. What a journey you have had, it happened for me in Jamaica since 2005 and I knew that this is what is supposed to happen to honour those who came before. i have written about this and have included many UK Rappers from then, now will have to contact you and include your part of the UK Hip Hop Story... Queen 'i' 'B' aka PrinCeSs 'B' checkin in and out. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more of the unfolding of this Divinely ordained story. More Love and Life. Ancestors :-))))
The interviewer was looking for him to say negative things about Jamaica. His culture shock was how developed Jamaica is. Good job Cash for seeing the the improvements in Jamaica.
Exactly and kept trying to make him say how Americanized the youth are. He the interviewer doesn't realize that American media is a worldwide influence so there's not doing to be anything greater there on Jamaican youth than the youth where the artists coming from in the UK. I'm glad he as a deportee is saying the culture shock was how progressive Jamaica is since he left as a child and was not ever brought back, AND that the only thing these other places have is opportunities, not one of them nice like Jamaica! Love that!
It's Great He Work Out His Status, Many Do Not Fight, So Props Due. However, The UK Been Rapping For 30yrs And Even Been Rapping On Reggae Beats From Early 90s.
The technicality is that everyone that came was born British in Jamaica by default. Some people applied for their British passport in Jamaica and the other islands before setting sail some did in the UK and some didn't at all. You wouldn't have needed any paperwork to get on the boat. BRITISH boat picking up British people. Therefore no documentation needed. Ex. You Dont need any paperwork to go to Scotland from England or from Isle of White to mainland. Jamaican and other islands were basically Isle of White a bit further away. The problem is that the shipping records were destroyed by Teresa May and many people hadn't naturalised. After independence it would have been important to do so and many did. This is really a tragedy and I wouldn't like to blame anyone really, but it's good to see that you can have your voice heard and there is an Avenue to reinstate yourself. The right thing to do would be to introduce a fresh immigration policy for Jamaica, in honour of the mistakes made for a period of time and only if coming for work or maybe pay education fees for the young students of Jamiaca, so giving back. Otherwise this will leave a bad taste for a long time.
Did he say he was part of the Windrush generation..abviously he is not. His parents came in the 90s and was illegal, therefore making him illegal also. He is nothing to do with Theresa May miss conduct.
@@vevenamcleish6533 I'm just giving a broad understanding of the bigger problem and the technicalities. Its not actually an immigration issue. Its a migration issue. My own brothers had the same problem from a different island. I know what he's saying. Do you understand what I'm saying? Windrush is an example that's all.
@@carolinebarnett9848 alot of times, the parents themselves not straight. Speaking from experience, because my sister/brother Brought me to England 🇬🇧 and them neva straight. I was the 1 to sort myself out with school etc. England 🇬🇧 is no bed or roses,it hardddd fi get citizenship etc unless your married/have a child & still there are obstacles
Like how he turn a negative situation into a positive one. Smart fellow. Young ppl listen and take a page from his book. He did not let his situation hold him down. He humbled himself and flip it into life's lessons. Great interview. Would be nice to convert this bibliography into a movie.
