From I arrived in New York I've been hearing about the dumpling shop over and over again. Fried dumplings is a staple breakfast item in Jamaica and not everyone does it well, so I made my way over to the Bronx to see what the hype was. A month or so before I also tried Blue Cantina that a few people also mentioned and it definitely gave a little Jamaican box lunch kinda vibe. FYI: SOAI, Good to see you getting around NYC. however, know that you can get a ticket riding your scooter, bicycle, skateboard on the sidewalk, after the age of 13. This is why you will see most persons riding on the street. Stay safe and informed.
@@cliz1972thanks for this, I gradually started noticing that ppl do ride it on the street. So I’ve been riding it more on the rd’s especially when they have bike lanes. Out here though on the bridge especially I was a bit confused if I could ride it in the street 😅
I remember seeing you at Bed Stuy Planet Fitness Gym. If you want other excellent Jamaican restaurants here in NYC I can give you a list of recommendations in Brooklyn and Queens NY.
The Dumpling Shop is a sub from its brother company The Dumpling Cove, which is about 3 minutes from each other. You get more for your money at The Dumpling Cove, but they're both good.
That scent of good home cooking coming from one restaurant and it reminds you of Jamaica home cooking and 20 restaurants and you don't know which one cooking so good drives me insane 😅😅😅

Just now watching this...will definitely try it when in New York. I'm in Kentucky and let me tell you, the closest West Indian restaurant is 2 hours dive away and it's not even all that.
Yes Bronx and mount vernon are side by side basically. My mom and granddad lives there, I used to ride to new Rochelle, Harlem and the Central Park. I used to love the imagery riding down white plains road and see the train over head. You should try going to the vegan place on 228 and white plains rd if it’s even there still.
