As a Turk, this song makes me really emotional. 🇹🇷🤍🇺🇦 The Turkish part’s translation is incorrect. It is in Tataric Turkish (almost every Turk can understand Tataric Turkish) and when we translate it to Turkish, Yaşlığıma toyalmadım = Gençliğime doyamadım Men bu yerde yaşalmadım = Ben bu yerde yaşayamadım The English translation will be *“I couldn't get enough of my youth”* *“I wasn’t able to live in this place”*
@@nataliapotka4412 she is Turkish. The song is about Kırım Turks (a Turkish group of people) being taken out from their homeland and being forced to live in Ukraine because of slavs. There are hundred of thousands of Kırım Turks in Ukraine. Jamala’s real Turkish name is Cemile, Jamala is more suitable for Ukrainians to say so she goes by Jamala
@@Lampey22 In all of her interviews she always indenfies as a Crimean Tatar. Her actual name is Susana, and her stage is Jamala not because it's more suitable for Ukrainians, not at all, but because it's a derivative of her last name Jamaladinova, hence Jamala. It's all over the internet, and it comes up in some of her interviews.
@@ladylady2030 i hope same. we Uyghurs lost our homeland to China because of joint colonialist policy of Russia and China towards our country. i hope Ukrainians will resist and win their war against Russian aggression. praying for you stay strong Ukraine 🇺🇦
@@mda990 I read the history! Stalin helped Mao to occupy East Turkestan! They shot down the plane of the Uighur President! 😢I read about uighur culture! God bless Ukrainian and Uighur people!
@@ladylady2030 true. i read about Holodomor and what Stalin did to Ukrainians also. the histories of our both peoples are very similar. unfortunately, we Uyghurs lost our homeland hopelessly to the communist dictatorship. my people is slave workers now in ''re-education'' camps in our fatherland. i am a refugee now in Turkey and lost contact with all my family back in my country. here are Ukrainian refugees also now in Turkey like Jamala and i feel the trouble Ukrainians going through. i am praying for you hope Ukraine will survive. Love and best wishes for Ukrainian people💙💛
If only I knew better, if only I were more into your sorrows, if only I listened to you - I would have supported Ukraine much more! My full solidarity to the people of Ukraine! My heart goes out to support you! Slava Ukraïni! 💙💛
Yaşlığıma toyalmadım: I couldn't fully live my youth Men bu yerde yaşalmadım: I couldn't live in this land (This is the literal translation but I understand your choice of words and additions to it as they transmit better the true meaning and emotions behind)
Yeah, cause russia already invaded Ukraine. The song came out in 2016, while the invasion was in 2014. russia took Crimea - Jamala’s homeland. History repeats itself sadly:(
What's surreal is I remember visiting Independence Square in the middle of Kyiv, and hearing this song right there in 2019, Loved it, It felt so different to anything I had ever heard before, really made my experience euphoric, I was people watching this woman dancing on her own to this song, in a way this song was almost being played there was almost like if it was predicting what was about to come in 2022, the lyrics however take a darker turn when you realise what the song is actually about, but it's all so true.
It makes me so sad to think that this song was brought to us to somehow teach us about the past so we can avoid it... 6 years later... History repeats itself! I don't care who is right or wrong, all I care about are all the people who are losing everything, just for some idiots to show their power... But like the song says... Everyone dies!
Im with you in spirit, but thats an escalation too far. Might engulf the whole world in fire. However I think the west needs to help ukraine by all other means giving weapons, jets, artillery, bazookas, air defenses, missiles EVERYTHING so that ukrainians can repel the ORCS. 🇺🇦🙏
Super Song and a singer, ..,Ne mutlu Türküm Diyene..Happy is who says I am a Türk..Nothing would be reasonal to occupy an indepented country..Praying for you..
Amazing version and translation! I always wanted to know the meaning of the Ukrainian parts, thanks! Stay strong Ukraine the whole world it's with you!! 🕊️ 🇺🇦😥
It is not Ukrainian, it is Tataric Turkish (the song is about Tataric Turks being forced to go Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia. Most of them died of hunger. This happened just because they were TURKS. This song is like the anthem of Ukrainians who are Tatar Turks)
@@user-id8if8ie5y it's the same language. Crimean Tatar, Turkish and Azerbaijani are just dialects. For example, as a Azerbaijani speaking person, I understand Crimean Tatar better than Turkish (95% to 90%).
The part that isn't english actually is: Gencliğime Doyamadım Ben bu yerde yaşayamadım Which means: I couldn't get enough from my youth I couldn't live in this place
@@sultanovkamran7830 Turkic, that means they're related but not the same. The OP claims that this song is in Turkish, which is wrong because Turkish and Crimean Tatar are different.
@@arvantsaraihan5777 Yeah, i understand that very well. I'm the speaker of one of the Turkic languages myself. So i know the differences. Yeah, try to prove for example someone who doesn't care that they different. That would be neatly impossible.
This song could not be so current these days .. GOD PROTECT UKRAINE from evil .. Russia leave Ukraine these lands do not belong to you .. The world wants PEACE and not WAR !!
I'm seeing now the pictures of bucha... images match with music. I have no words on how to define this misdeed, the story will not be sentenced. Russians sleep only shit.
Here's some food for thought. Whatch the video about Bucha one more time. Look at the corpses, next to them are boxes of humanitarian aid from the Russian military, on their sleeves of corpses there are white armbands - signs of Russian supporters. Moreover, in the previous video, where the mayor of Bucha spoke the day after the Russian army left the territory, there were no corpses on the streets. The bodies appeared 3 days later. In some videos the "corpses" are moving, in other videos we hear a Ukrainian soldier saying "shoot anyone with non-blue bandages". Video about Bucha was fabricated against Russia.
Crimean Tatars (Crimean Tatar: qırımtatarlar, къырымтатарлар) or Crimeans (Crimean Tatar: qırımlar, къырымлар), are a Turkic ethnic group and nation who are an indigenous people of Crimea. More you can find: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_Tatars Much suitable video to this song : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h7k-l8JlPug.html so it happend 1944, 2014, now and many, many times in history of russians neighbours.
Very beautiful song. I didn't particularly like this arrangement as I thought it would be more cinematic sounding, and less World of Warcraft Garageband vibes, but the visuals are good. Just would be careful with the instrumentation feels like it clashes in places, and there is a bit too much uneven syncopation.

Stay strong Ukraine. But sorry i really support Russia. I think Russia does it for the good of Everyone. And i think it should be the Pres. of Ukraine to be blamed. the past president did peace to Ukraine why he don't why war? blame your president Ukraine. Respect my comment.✌️✌️✌️ Each everyone has own opinion and ideas. Long live Russia from Philippines🇵🇭🇷🇺
It sounds weird. How can we speak about peace while someone tries to steal everything from your home. Like for real. How can Zelenskiy provide his people with freedom etc? Ukraine has never tried to offend Russia or something like that, they lived their best lifes at home and tried to join EU. I can agree, that it was not the best path, since there was a lot of troubles on a way. But in the end of they day the thing that Putin wants not let them go their own way, it's ridiculous. Russia can't decide and dictate its rules to any one who is sovereign and independent. See, I respect you, but your comment makes literally no sense.
