10 years ago I visited friends in Kenya. I was 13 back then, and as a spoiled western kid, they showed me a whole new world, new foods, and that sleeping in a tent on the Masai Mara plains is more comfortable than I expected. I will never forget their generosity and kindness and after corona, I will visit you again, Kenya nzuri
Here in Qatar all black Africans we are regarded as Kenyans. The moment Asians, Arabs or Europeans see you they sing for you this song. Thanks for promoting Swahili world wide. Much love from Uganda.
Funny thing is that I work in bahrain Middle East and every time I tell people am from kenya they start singing this song 😁 😁... This is a world wide song.
Our last day at a camp in the Serengeti the whole crew came to the dining room and sang this to us. Their enthusiasm and joy was the last day of our trip to Tanzania really memorable.
In school when i was 8 i had a girlfriend who was from kenya, she teached me this song. Everytime we saw each other we would sing it. Now ~12 years later i had my first trip to kenya with her (as a friend not girlfriend) and i must say Kenya is a beautifull country, such amazing culture from the people and the sounds at night made me feel more comfortable somehow. I wish more people would be able to see Africa as what it really is instead of the "no water no electricity" attitude. I am from The Netherlands and i would visit Kenya again 100%.
I am 100% with you, there is more in Africa then most people would admitt. I am always amamzed that people who never made a footstep onto the black continent have a prejudice and talk about it as it would be reality. The truth is that Africa has more to offer then most people would ever imagine. I can only suggest to go there and visit some countries and look with your own eyes. You return as a ambassador with a diffrent message.
Was in my bed thinking about my life back in Kenya and how me and my family would sing this song… Nostalgic😭. It’s been 10 years since, hopefully I visit Kenya next year.
I remember this song when I visited Kenya and went to Mombasa on holiday. I love the people there. Fell in love with Africa in that country went on safari for a week best time of my life in the 90s. Be around 1996/97. I still have friends I talk to in africa to this day. This song would be played in the hotel all the time. It really brings back happy memories.
I visited Kenya about 10ys ago I still know this song! Lovely people & my favourite place on earth.. I cried when I left I wished I could stay!! My heart will always be in Africa xxx
Kenya is gorgeous! I spent there almost 3 lovely months. Diani is must visit place. We sang this song there in Ukunda when made bonfire on the seashore. Unfortunately I couldn't visit Masai Mara but at least I have been to Nakuru, Naivasha, Hell's gate. I'd love to visit Kenya not a one time.
Just returned from a Kenyan safari - the trip of a lifetime! Our safari driver and guide tried to teach us this song. I already learned a few of the words and we sure had fun singing this song in the jeep! Loved Kenya, the animals and the people! Thank you Angela, Dennis, Daniel, Elvis and all the rest of the crew who took care of us. God bless you all!
My lil sis went to Kenya with my mother and my sis dad, when they came back they keep singing it, so, even if I never put a foot in Kenya, it's definitely on my wish list. Not for tourism tho. To me, it's the cradle of life and humanity. 💜
Me encanta!!!

I remember when I was on a trip to Kenya with family, when we stayed in a resort, if it was someone's birthday they'd sing this song for them. And now, over a decade latter it still stuck with me.
Am always amazed when I met people from other countries and tell them that am Kenyan, they always reply back, hakuna matata. It just makes me feel so good, respect to song writer/ singer, really made us proud. This song is widely known.
I have spent best days of my life in Africa. I have come across the most wonderful humans with a demeanour full of warmth. Simple people with heart of pure gold. God bless you all.
This song when i hear makes me happy, i have lovely memories of Kenya, and a photo safari, and also, the people are all so friendly. I love this country and the people
This song is on the soundtrack of a movie that my sister and I watched over and over in the early 90s. It got stuck in my head and never left, and I'm still fond of it thirty years later.

Teddy Kalanda Harrison, you are a true Kenyan Hero together with your brothers for bequething Kenya a signature tune for all visitors since 1980. May your retirement to Kaloleni, Giriama, continue to be memorable ✨️
I just spent 1 week in Masai Mara and 1 week in Mombasa. Beautiful country, beautiful people, beautiful wildlife 😍 I miss you all from England 🇬🇧 ❤️ 🇰🇪
