Ipilimumab or Nivolumab. It doesn't cure all cancer for now, cause they're still working on clinical trials to see side effects. But so far it has been approved for several major cancers.

You see Dr. Allison driving away in a very nice car. My reaction is 'that man should be a multi-millionaire and be driving the most expensive car known to mankind." When your life's work is as game-changing as Dr. Allison's, then you should reap HUGE financial gain. Bravo to Dr. Allison!

So this guy discovered a cure for cancer decades ago and nobody is talking about this!?!?!?!? Millions still dying of cancer today, so if this is a cure, why is this not a widespread cure? (serious question)
@bella7352
@bella7352 4 года назад
That was my initial question too, but looking into it, the reality is that there will never be a single "cure for cancer," each type and subtype is unique in the way it manifests and metastasizes; some don't even manipulate the immune system in the way necessary for this treatment to be impactful. Dr. Allison's work, though groundbreaking, is only applicable to a couple of cancer types at this time, and still only is 25% successful as a "cure" for those. Additionally, though he made this breakthrough in the 90s, human clinical trials may last years before they're approved for use by the general public, and still in a restrictive way. Though millions are dying, it's still better to be safe with ensuring the efficacy of a drug before throwing it out there. Hope that helps!

I agree , cancer cure is always just around the corner. You would think Dr's, scientists;chemist and big pharma spending trillons of dollars all arond the world for the past 80 years you'd have it figured out by now , nothig new to see. How many time can you see the same cells and not know every ymthig abut them by now.

There are always side effects and that in itself is a study that has to be done aside of the main study. There are so many variants and sooooo many applications, sorting through these medicines, the condition, and implications of any treatment is not something to be done in one afternoon for a patient.
@basim784

When such medicine for such disease be discovered , it should be available to treat people, not to be that expensive so patients wish for it, what is the use of discovering a medicine that can't be reached.

Anemia, white and red blood cell destruction, lymph node enlargement...ever wondered if cancer is an infection that antibiotics can't fight? Ever really look at a tumor? Those things look a lot like an infection in a broken tooth.
