I used to admire James Deakin when he was starting..But got disappointed when he chose to be with a much younger woman, leaving his wife who has been with him when he was unknown. I guess money really changes a man.
I admired him the first time I heard him talk about cars. But today I have admiration and a lot of respect to this intelligent person. Kudos to you James Deakin.
thank you James for the driving advice about courtesy while on the roads, hope and pray that more drivers in Pinas show more road courtesy. Very nice advice indeed.
He probably took after his own father who separated from his filipina mother (Hernandez). Probably success entered his head, decided to hitch anew. This is a tragic occurence with some aging men who couldnt stay loyal to the wife of their youth who was with them when they were NOTHING😕😵😔
I definitely agree on his perspective about driving in the Philippines. It drives me nuts when I first drove there. So different. Drivers are so uneducated and they do things on the road not because it’s legal or allowed but just because they can do it without being apprehended by traffic enforcers. It’s exhausting to drive there. It’s a jungle out there. And that’s funny how you commented that people who drives good looking cars are mostly “unpleasant” looking, which is sooooo true in the Philippines and here in the US.
Ayos makipag kwentuhan ni Sir James 🧡 obvious na kind person and he knows his stuff well ☺ maganda din ang parting thought nya about road sharing at na may another human sa likod ng kabilang manebela 🧡 cheers cheers!!! -R
@@vyn4147 He was till that girl showed up. He's not perfect but I think he was better w/o her. Whatever healthy lifestyle he is advocating will be seen in a different light because of that girl. They're aren't shy about it either.
Totally agree with James on emissions from EV being 'transferred' from on-site (vehicle surrounds) to off-site (power plants). If EV's were only plugged-in, this will create increased demand on grid power generation. HEV (hybrid electric) for now is most practical. Plug-in hybrids also take time to charge + problem of safety (some cases of exploding lithium-ion batteries). Lithium ion solid state batteries are supposed to be safer and have shorter charging time and bigger capacity (therefore longer trips between charging). Sodium battery technology is also under development and reduces environmental impact of mining lithium which is a rare earth mineral. Possible solution in the near future - battery swapping stations, instead of charging stations to reduce waiting time. Even better if the batteries are charged by solar or certified renewable (closed loop geothermal, hydro, etc) from a provider who is a contestable consumer. *Will work if batteries are compatible and made easier to remove/re-install. Just helping disseminate info on Philippine Energy Mix stats as of 2015. It's actually "clean energy" that was close to 50%, not "renewable". Clean energy (C) includes Renewables (R) and Natural Gas. Power Generation Mix as of 2015: Coal @ 44.5%, Oil @ 7.1% = 51.6%+ (~unclean?) Natural Gas (CE`) @ 22.9%, Geothermal (RE) @ 13.4%, Hydro (RE) @ 10.5%, Solar (RE) @ 0.2%, Wind (RE) @ 0.9%, Biomass (RE) @ 0.4%. In 2015, Clean Energy @ 48.2%+, of which Renewable Energy @ 25.4%+ (therefore only 25.4% of energy generated is Renewable in 2015). Source www.doe.gov.ph/energy-statistics?q=energy-resources/powermix Latest available figures as of 2022: Power Generation Mix: Coal @ 59.57%, Oil @ 2.26%, Natural Gas (C) @ 16.04%, Geothermal (R) @ 9.35%, Hydro (R) @ 9.04%, Solar (R) @ 1.63%, Wind (R) @ 0.92%, Biomass (R) @ 1.19%. In 2022, Clean Energy @ 38.17%, of which Renewable @ 22.13%. Power generation from Clean Energy in 2022 came down by 10% compared with 2015 [from 48.2% in 2015 to 38.17% in 2022] Power generation from Renewable Energy in 2022 also came down by 3.27% compared with 2015 [from 25.4% in 2015 to 22.13 in 2022] Source: www.doe.gov.ph/sites/default/files/pdf/energy_statistics/2022_power_statistics_03_gross_generation_per_plant_type_per_grid.pdf Let's also try to be more understanding while on the road.
@@tonyp2601 The stats support your statement. Dependence on coal increased from 2015 to the present. RE has limitations esp solar & wind which cannot produce 24/7/365.
We have honda safety driving school in paranaque. This promotes proper training for drivers and you also get a certificate. Mga kasabay namin dito are also truck drivers sent by their companies.
Mr. Deakin has an invaluable information on the many aspects of driving, cars etc. I may not be a car enthusiast but definitely, what I am hearing from him is more than enough for me to understand about motoring. Regarding the hosting of Mr. Janno Gibbs & the other host, May I humbly suggest to let Mr. Deakin finish what he is saying before butting in. I believe the show will be more interesting also if added visuals will be shown when mentioning salient topics. For ex. the topic on what cars are best for road trips, city driving, 1st car for beginners, etc , pictures of Mr.Deakin’s answers/ choices would be nice to see.
Yun nga rin kinainisan ko.. ang tagal nila married, tagal din nya naging sikat sa social media tas bihira ipost asawa.. nung sila na nung bago, panay post. kairita.. but its their life so mairita ako hanggang mamatay ako. Charet hahahaa
I love how Tito James puts such dignity in driving, as it should be. Kakilig his love story tho kagulat nang slight. Happy for both of them. Let's learn to share the road better, people!
Aside from James being a great person, I will never forget him because time came for me to change my car battery, and so I was out to buy one. Then, I saw a tarp of ? batteries and he was on it as an endorser and the manufacturer claims a 5 year battery life. Though it was quite expensive, I said to myself why not try it since James was endorsing it, I guess it was worth a try. So I bought one, and what do you know, the battery is still working fine since 2016. Knock on wood. No kidding, it still works to this day. Come November, 7 years na battery ko. Sorry, inedit ko brand nung battery baka kasi bawal.
Operating a vehicle and driving are 2 diff things. Agree ako sau 101pct mr james.. Nd s pagyayabang before i drive a car at bago ako nagka sasakyan 2 decades before, nag aral muna ako ng defensive driving s hinda at actual driving s A1..nag exam p sa NSC sa safety driving.. nag invest sa pagmamaneho para matuto.. awa ng dios, never involved s accident sa sasakyan..
I've said this before and I still believe that the Philippine driving rules & regulation/law are very outdated and badly needs a revision. James Deakin would be the perfect consultant in rewriting the law (LTO or MMDA).
Thank you for a very interesting and informative discussion/conversation. But I heard the word "amorticize" instead of amortize as I know it, so I googled both and only the latter showed up. Is "amorticize" commonly used in Australia?
Agree. That starter couch looks very uncomfortable and unprofessional ergo it’s distracting away from the guests eh ang ganda kausap ni James Deakin and Roxy
My nephew doctor is older by 20 years from his wife…the wife was his student in the college of medicine…and she is a doctor now….just finished her residency in gynecology and my nephew is a Urology specialist And a professor……
Am "married" to a hybrid EV, wished I went for hybrid plug-in EV for longer distance electric driving. Now I'm worried about parts replacements at 111,000 km at the 5th year. Hope and pray batteries or transmission parts don't wear out yet. 🙏 time to trade in soon but still serving 3 more years car payments.
