my drama teacher was like "no girls can play boy boy roles. sorry." then she saw that only like 3 boys auditioned, shes like "okay girls can play boy parts."
@Macy123AJ this is the James in the video. I got bored so I was watching this and cringing at myself. Anyway, good luck and I'm sure you'll do fantastic!
I tried out for james and the person who got james got the role bc he was a boy and he doesnt participate in the rehersals just goes on other peoples phones i got over the fact i didnt get james bc i still got a good role (spider) but it annoys me because him and the other lead are always fooling around
I was raised by some people like Spiker and Sponge who treated me as a slave and seeing this play has provided some great therapy for me. So thank you. :) I'm grown now and I promise to be kind. And I still love bugs and spiders and all animals on the planet :)
This was so awesome! well done everyone. :) I loved how mean they made the 2 aunts. The ladybug did a good job with character and she has a beautiful voice too. James did awesome :) and I loved the jazziness of the narrator. I liked how the grasshopper always added jumps in even when no one else was jumping around, I liked how he got into character. I got a better understanding of centipede's bitterness and pain, you did a good job showing how he lost everyone in his family too and how this makes him angry and alone and how he slowly warmed up to the other bugs and James and joined the family. And it shows the truth that if you keep on offering love and family and invitations to an angry alone person who lost everyone, they will eventually come to love you and join you in your friendship or family. :) So that's an important thing you taught your audience. I think spider did well and seemed to be coping much better than centipede and worm even though she lost her fiancé. She used the pain to drive her to take care of poor James who felt stifled like no one cared about what he had to say. She said to whisper in her ear. When your pain drives you to be kind to others, this is the best way to use your pain. Worm was very believable as a really scared anxious person that became less scared as he found the support and love of his family, which is also true for humans. Anyway good job ensemble. Good job everyone. This meant a lot to me. :)
just got cast as james in our show, starting tomorrow! this is an amazing video with a very strong cast which has already helped me prepare for my show :)
My best tip would probably be to relax! It's a first rehearsal, so I'm guessing you'll probably just run through the script, maybe sing. Our first rehearsal was just a read-through and we listened to the songs. If you're nervous about singing in front of people, Sponge as a character isn't supposed to have a gorgeous voice anyway :). Most people won't be judging you, because they'll be just as nervous as you :). Have fun!
Im super exited! The cast list for the production that im doing of this came out yesterday and i got earthworm! Im super exited. Good job the the people that were in this! This by far is my favorite version of the show!
This is absolutely wonderful, especially for a middle school production! My local theatre group is doing this show next year. I can't believe how great this is, I've watched it at least 10 times in the past month haha
Wow! Thank you so incredibly much! I played Aunt Spiker in this video, and I'm so proud of the response you all have given us! Thanks to my dad for posting this video, and I'm so happy we could help prepare some wonderful actors for their roles! Enjoy!
Thank you so much! I played Ladybug in the video, and this really means a lot! We worked really hard on this production and it's amazing to see that it paid off!
Not very impressed, my school is doing this same musical and they are no where near each other in competition. No offense to the actors I’m sure they worked hard but i like to be a critic sometimes
This really helped me be prepared for my production of James and the giant peach because I’m a girl and I really want to be James and Auditions are tomorrow
They should’ve put a hat on James. Also his costume makes him look like an adult and he is supposed to be a little boy. Other then that the show was AMAZING!!!
In my school I play grasshopper and my play is on feb 4th! Im so excited! This is one of the better plays on youtube. Spiker and sponge were the highlight of this play for me.
hello, i also did this play although I was not a main charater I was 3 people: Ida Walters,a seagull, and a new yorker my school had a very low budget i'm sure you'll do well it is/was today! in my school the person playing james...his name was james so it was perfect! good luck! (I did not get a main role because I did not want one I hate pressure and Im terrible at scrips my teachers asked me if i wanted a main role because they thought I was very good at singing(I tried to make this sound as non-braggy as possible) Im sure you will do an amazing job though! :)
In my summer camp we're doing this, and I got casted as Spider! I heard she's a lead role but I don't sing slot which I'm kinda sad of. But I'm so excited to be an insect! :))
This was really helpfull to find what character I want to be . Im doing this for Childrens Playtime Prouductions we preform at the Mccallum theater . Auditons are on december 10 and 9th. Wish me luck
I was recently in my towns version of James and the giant peach and I have been looking for one like the one I was and this was really accurate and I am so happy. All the ones I was watching has like 10 people but this one has many and I am so happy. I am really excited to watch it all
IM WATCHING THIS BECAUSE in my school we are doing this and i want to audition for Earthworm so i wanna know how he acts like. This is my line... Im earthworm . you gave me quite a scare but im prone to irrational fits of fear,... AHH! What was that? WHAT WAS THAT! -------------------------------------------- And so we also have to sing a song too ;3
My local theatre is doing James and the giant peach and I'm centipede. I really wanted that part so I'm really exited! I've watched this 12 times and it really helps me memorize.
