James Arness was the greatest western t v star of all time. Gunsmoke was on the air for 20 years because of him and the other incredible actors on that classic show !!!!!
He was so wonderful, great looking man.He is my hero,I miss him so bad.I watch his movies everyday. never missed a show. will continue to watch him till the day i die.God rest his sole. There isn't a man or actor who could take his place. He was one of a kind.love and miss you Mr.Arnes you are always with me everyday.
All that I can say about (matt) James Arness is he was a legend of an actor and Gunsmoke still is one of my favourite shows which airs here in auss every day, if im not home i record it. I loved James Arness and will miss him although never met him. The rest of the cast were incredible as well, my favourites being Festus and Doc. Rest in Peace Matt Dillon because you were the legend,
Thank you for showing him our apperication as the news media had very little to say about his passing! If he had been a sports celerbity oh yeah they would still be talking about him but he was from the good ole days of tv.Thanks
James Arness was shot in the leg while with the 3rd Inf Div at Anzio 1944. He never really recovered from the wound. But you could'nt tell it from his performancesw
Great tribute. Love that Army picture!! Jim and Ken Curtis. (Matt Dillon and Festus Haggan.) Wonderful human being-didn`t mind being type cast either. Matt Dillon-My Hero.
his limp became more pronounced on the later shows when h e put on a couple of pounds .pretty ironic because on the one hand it looked like a hitch in his git along when he was playing a fictional hero and here is this evidence of true heroism right there in is leg on the show .the greatest law enforcement character ever on TV . and that's saying plenty what w/ all of the steve mcgarretts and colombos on the air overt the years.
