That’s because you’re directly challenging city for the title, while spurs are fighting for top 4. If spurs vs city was the equivalent of arsenal vs city right now, while arsenal are 5th or 6th, no chance arsenal fans would want spurs to win

@@PyroMiniYak Well of course. If Spurs win the UCL and Arsenal win the PL, Spurs have not only had the better season, they've done something Arsenal has never done. But if Arsenal and Spurs both win nothing, Spurs are still Spurs and Arsenal are still far more successful.

When Tottenham were close to winning the league in the mid to late 2010s Arsenal fans were not not obsessed with supporting Spurs' opponents. Abbi is easily the worse contributor on this channel. She never has any meaningful insight to add and seems to pay more attention to her rivals and their fans than her own team. Fans like her are why Levy can continue to run an uncompetitive club with impunity.

100%, if course you wish downfall of your opponents, in many walks of l8fe like business, but esp sports. However Abbey, it's about HOW MUCH, other fans want risks to fail as a secondary pleasure, not aprimary one. No other fan base wishes their own team to fail (okaybthere are some but nowhere near as many at man u, lvpl arsenal, Everton...)

Lol wanting another team to beat your rivals is not the same as supporting another team for them to win because your team cant do anything. There were times when Manchester City played Tottenham and she would support Manchester City more than Tottenham because what it could do to Arsenal.

Try and flip the roles. As unlikely as it’d be imagine Spurs being in a title race with Liverpool and Arsenal beating Liverpool in match week 37 would effectively win Spurs the title. KNOWING how chatty the spurs fan base already is. I’d find it difficult to believe that Arsenal would want to win that game as much as they claim they would. Especially if winning that game still doesn’t guarantee them top 4 like in Spurs case. Villa probably beat Palace had they needed to so Spurs beating City would’ve been for nothing
