He sings beautiful. I love him in the Broadway musical in Jane Eyre & when he sang in Dracula the Musical too.

I love his voice in Jane Eyre!!! Dracula is good but hilarious to me. I heard that the most popular male lead characters in romance novels are surgeons, pirates, billionaires, ware wolves and vampires. So funny! I have to admit I read the Twilight books. So I get it, vampires can be hot. Women love a project, especially taming a beast. I do like that song Loving You Keeps Me Alive but what does he mean? Does he love her blood and that keeps him alive? It's all very amusing.

@@marenmclean1301 I don't read too much into a song. When he sings 'Love Keep me Alive'. I think he means he is given for the first time a purpose to live & win her love.

Good point!!! I was just joking around. I agree it's a beautiful love song. Thanks for answering me. What's black cat film productions about? Did you see James in the Broadway Jane Eyre? Or Dracula? Do you mind chatting with me?

@@marenmclean1301 The meaning of Loving you keeps me alive (in original German « I only exist because of you ») is easier to understand if you’ve seen the play or at least in comparison to the (also pretty awesome) song The longer I live. In The Longer I live, Dracula reflects on how meeting Mina’s changed him. Basically, Dracula’s a damned soul, and it’s very much implied he’s the boss of all undead creatures like him (sorta like the Antichrist). In that respect, he is the representation of hedonistic pleasure devoid of any morals and has lived that way for centuries. It’s implied in the musical it’s pretty much impossible for the damned to rise above their status as damned creatures and experience genuine emotions such as love and guilt. But upon meeting Mina, Dracula starts changing without even realising it at first and finally recognises in Loving you keeps me alive that what once brought him joy, sordid earthly pleasures, are nothing compared to the happiness he feels being with her. In the German musical, in the song Die Verfürung (I think i spelled that right ?), which translates to Mina’s seduction (an amazing song that I’d die to see Barbour sing but isn’t on the cast album sadly) he roughly goes « I’ve commanded armies, beaten the enemy at war, but when I see your face I realise this was nothing but futile pleasures ». So to me, it appears he’s saying in Loving you keeps me alive that meeting her made him FEEL (something the other vampire are incapable of and that he’s never experienced) genuinely alive for the first time in his entire existence and now she is his sole reason to exist, because without her nothing would make sense anymore and he could never go back to the way he used to live (-> The first time I set eyes on you/I knew I’d never be the same). When you’ve seen the whole thing well done, I think Dracula is very interesting and thought provoking beyond simple « Women like a project » reflections. Considering the German lyrics to Loving you keeps me alive state roughly that Mina’s changed him without even trying to and that she never once in the show treats him as a project but rather as a overpowering current her morality wants to resist but her heart just can’t, I think it actually negates the whole « project » dynamic. She spends half her time trying to resist him and the other half falling for him and then feeling awful about herself because she does (it’s most explored in « Wär’ ich der wind » or « If I was the wind » which is the power ballad to end all power ballad in German but somehow got really messed p on the first Dracula broadway show and is full on replaced by « The heart is slow to learn » on the version where James is, which should be a crime considering the heart is slow to learn is exponentially weaker in comparison.) Wouldn’t that project mentality actually apply much more readily to Jane Eyre, where they constantly make the metaphor that Edward is blind where Jane can see until he ACTUALLY goes blind (don’t get me wrong, the Jane Eyre musical is phenomenal and the lyrics for it are much stronger than for German Dracula, but still)? I’ve not read Jane Eyre yet nor watched the full musical but I did hear the song and watch the movie and I’d say Edward is like the definition of a project for poor Jane 😂 I actually used to hate him and think he was a useless fool until I heard James sing his part in the musical, since I cannot resist anything James sings 🤦🏻‍♀️

Who would have ever thought that my dreams would come true! (in 2011) All the loving energy that I have given to the project over many years. At the end, the phantom has sat on his throne in the final scene and has disappeared. Is it coming back in LND? (I don't like the ending of LND either! No happy ending)
