I’ve been normal. I’ve been ostracized. I watched through a window as my young self died. I’ve been popular with all the popular guys. I gave them punchlines, they gave me warning signs. I look ok in the magic hour. With the right light, with the right amount of powder. And I’m ok, with the life of a sunflower. And I am ok with the life of a meteor shower. So say what you will. Go on, say what you will. You’re gonna do it anyway. Go on, say what you will. You’re gonna do it anyway, say what you will. I can find my way with no superpowers. I can take my place without becoming sour. I might not make all those psychopaths proud at least I can see the faces of the smaller crowds. And I’m ok, I can drive myself. I’ve been sobered by my time on the shelf. And I’ve been normal, I’ve been ostracized like a comet, blazing through an empty sky. So say what you will.
Usually when an umastered, live version of a song is good, my ears get accustomed and I hope for that version exactly. The mastered version is different. But in all the right ways. A first for me.
He's actually 56, so you two are about the same age. (In fact, your comment looks exactly like the type of comment he writes on his own videos to boost his confidence and try to get others to like him.)
i’m so so glad i discovered him though a youtube ad today. He’s talented but not in the traditional (honestly boring) sense of the word, I feel we don’t get enough talented artists that can pull off those low tones so well alongside the harmonies. Incredible.
the end of this song is epic, an incredible voice, great live version, all this on instagram lol and it still sounds good. the greatest of our generation.
I saw James Blake at Cats Cradle…well before the notoriety or just prior to it. A naturally gifted purveyor of musical arrangements and lyrics. His ‘stuff’ is heavenly.
Wow! You lost me at me at 1:20! Your voice! ! I suffer from something called EDS (rare and misunderstood) and life is hell! This song speaks so much to me right now!
I love this so hard! First thought: I don't know this song wonder if he's covering someone Second thought: The intro reminded me of another of his, (once we all agree) so thought maybe it was his. Third thought: Oh this is making me cry and is totally relevent to my life. Fourth thought: These lyrics are me holding shit in and making someone feel the weight and burning sensation of me not saying what we all know I'll end up saying (LORD knows I can't stay quite) Fith thought: Lets read the description and figure out whos song this is. Sixth thought: Really the take home message , go with your insticts.
