My point was lot of people look at you weird and say like 'oh, you're not really black' and other shit like that because, of you being yourself and being an individual and not listening to that bullshit mainstream stuff on the radio. People always assume that I only listen to Hip-Hop, but that isn't true. I hate that little bit of discrimination in a way. I get looked at and people already somehow 'know' what I like to listen to.

@Blacktundras Same here... I'm 17 though. No one should be restricted to a certain genre due to race... For someone to truly appreciate music as an art, you have to be willing to try to listen to things that you wouldn't normally think you or anyone else would. Like for example... I have been recently in the past couple months started listening to Skrillex, Bon Iver, and now James Blake.

@Blacktundras I also agree. I go to a University which is highly multi-cultural and I have equal respect for each race, and see no reason why it shouldn't be that way. However, a black girl once told me (a white lad) that she "can't dance to white persons music". This disgusted me, call me petty but I was offended. Everyone is equal and race generalisation needs to stop.

Listen..Im a black guy who loves hip hop and grew up in an urban lifestyle....BUT this song right here.....Strips all of that away and really makes me believe that we ALL no matter what color should live as ONE!!!!!!!

It's a DSI Prophet 08, but you can do that on any virtual analog type synth. Off the top of my head, it's 1 saw with a little white noise mixed in (he increases this as the song progresses), a filter envelope with a fairly short decay (which makes the pluck sound), and quite a bit of reverb (mixed in as the song progresses). You'd have to fool around with the programming a bit, but that's the essence of the sound.

just use a saturater, .. and LOTS LOTS of delay+reverb .. done

That's a great, simple patch to dial into a synthesizer and mess with. That's basically how I learned programming: finding tutorials on simple sounds and exploring possibilities from there. Even then, some of the simplest programs yield extraordinary results, as seen here. Often times, it's more about the performance than the programming.

i dont know what that plugin is. but maybe he uses a combination of reverb+filter+distortion.. i dont know to be honest, im just guessin. however he sounds purely digital when he plays that riff 3 minuted in so it maybe a midi effect

saturation is like distortion but not too fuzzy .. but its not that hard to do it .. the main thing is the delay or reverb, when stuff gets louder and louder and gets "lost" .. however, we will never know haha.
