My best friend for 30 years died a couple of months ago. Also, a very dear friend was killed in a car accident, and I am just trying to cone to terms of the losses.
Stay strong. Spend some time with friends and heal. My partner passed away in 2022. She was only 27 and was diagnosed with late stage cancer only a month prior. It doesn’t stop hurting but you will be happy again I promise.

Sometimes, behind the smile and the words "it's great", there is pain, suffering and dark thoughts. Only after death do we ask questions that will never be answered. Sometimes it's enough to hold your hand, let each other talk, or just be silent together. The words "you can count on me" are only words if they are not backed up by actions. You are such a blessing and have such an incredible talent to move people. I've been unfortunate enough to lose three parents and a good friend to those dark thoughts and that haunts me every day at 20 years old. Grieving is its own process, but as soon as things get easier there's just something new to grieve about. This is exactly what I needed to hear on probably one of my roughest days since my dad's in July. Thank you a ton. This is beautifully written.

I am crying hearing this song Dark Thought... I did tell someone lots of someone's. I'm still here struggling but I'm grateful for every good thing in my life. James Blunt is one human being who really gets it.
As a teenager lucky enough to have grown up in the 70's, loving lyrics and an eclectic taste in music, I was an ardent David Bowie fan. The lyrics in all of these songs are not only intelligently put together with wonderful melodies, they are evocative and emotive. Truly wonderful, thank you for bringing me back to this kind of music.

James, this hit me really hard. My dad had cancer and fought it for ten years. He wasn't present when i grew up and we found a relation just a couple of years before he passed. Our contact was sporadic and hard, and one time he called to ask to borrow a few dollars and i couldn't because i had none but portrayed myself as having a stable life. So i said no and we had a fight. A few weeks later he ended up in a hospital on his death bed, he has starved himself to death. And i can't forgive myself for that... The fight we had pierced his heart so badly that he finally gave up and let the cancer take him. I have trouble living with it.
Parents are not supposed to borrow money from their children. Fathers who choose to not be involved in the lives of the children they create, who lent no support in their youth, especially have no right to ask for money or anything else from their children. Don’t feel bad about such a selfish person. He was fortunate to know you at all, having missed the endless love you had to give when you were a child. I’m sorry you are grieving.It’s a process all children must eventually experience, but please don’t waste any more of your energy than you have to on him. You deserve to surround yourself with supportive, loving, and kind people. They will enrich your life, just as you enrich theirs. Kind regards.❤
This song is so addicting! I have listened to it so many times. I just discovered James Blunt about a year ago. I don’t like all his songs, but the ones I I do like touch me DEEPLY. The words, tunes and his voice are amazing!
