This song expresses every emotion I felt when my darling wife died. It was played at her funeral and it remains in my heart everytime I hear it even after a dozen years. Some ignorant people mock James, but for many his music touches the raw emotions that everyone will one day experience.

I lost my daughter last month. She was 18 months old. I listened to this song with her before she left. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and smile. I can still hear her laugh as I danced around the room with her. I don’t know at this point how I can carry on without my angel. I had her later in life at 41 and I didn’t realise I had never really loved anybody before her. Daddy will see you soon my beautiful baby.

I've always casually enjoyed this song. But what a performance! He is so captivating and pulls you along every step of the moment. It is interesting, and quite beautiful to watch the audience at the beginning, finding their seats, restless, grabbing their phones, chatting amongst themselves, and at the end everyone is still, silent and mesmerised. This performance, along with his twitter account make me love him more.

I've heard this song loads of times, and it's never meant anything to me, but after watching him perform it live I have a new found appreciation for James blunt as an artist.
