How I wish I could surrender my soul Shed the clothes that become my skin See the liar that burns within my needing How I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold How I wish I had screamed out loud Instead I've found no meaning I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain How I wish I could walk through the doors of my mind Hold memory close at hand Help me understand the years How I wish I could choose between Heaven and Hell How I wish I would save my soul I'm so cold from fear I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble Far, far away; find comfort in pain All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain Tears and Rain Tears and Rain Far, far away; find comfort in pain All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain
This is one of my favorite songs from him, the first time I heard it I cried my eyes out from the emotion he actually gets out there through his words and voice
Wow this takes me back. I remember buying this concert on DVD as part of the Bedlam Sessions when I was about 12. In fact, I think I still have it somewhere. Whilst I wouldn't call myself a diehard fan nowadays, I certainly enjoy revisiting James' music every so often, particularly Back to Bedlam.
Recently reconnected with James Blunt's music and I wondered why I hadn't heard more of his music over the years? Incredibly talented singer/songwriter and musician. Better in person than in a recording. His soul shines through his performance. He is very self deprecating and yet hands out witticisms to those who find sport in tearing him down. Quite the juxtaposition. 😂. I have found more songs that impacted me in the last month listening to his music catalog than a lot of the forgettable music that's been mass marketed through the music industry. James Blunt's music is definitely recognizable and impactful. Some of his's tunes will get stick with me in the company of Kansas "Dust in the Wind". Cat Stevens. Elton John. Paul Simon. Don McLean. The Doors. Bee Gees. That's just a few of my favorites. They are unique as is James Blunt.
How I wish I could surrender my soul; Shed the clothes that become my skin; See the liar that burns within my needing. How I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold. How I wish I had screamed out loud, Instead I've found no meaning. I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain, All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble. Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray. I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble. It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain. How I wish I could walk through the doors of my mind; Hold memory close at hand, Help me understand the years. How I wish I could choose between Heaven and Hell. How I wish I would save my soul. I'm so cold from fear. I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain, All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble. Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray. I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble. Far, far away; find comfort in pain. All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble. It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain...

2019...still,the spirit of this songs never leave me since the time I heard it during my colleges days. The album Back to Bedlam was one of the best album after 2000. I am glad to grow up along with this great album.
I do falling in love with James Blunt voice and all song he has singing no matter when. He is the best singer. God bless you James each day singing for us. Thank you guys for this video, lovely video from James Blunt.💚❤🎼🎸
He's unique. His talent, heart and soul! Who would say that, this and many other songs came from a man who also served in the British forces? To me he is one of the most complete artists, his songs can only be a result of true human experiences. Gotta love him , 2017!
