I think this is the prime example of how you are supposed to act in the music industry when there is a new act that is coming for your spot but they admired you and emulate you to an extent. James Brown looks like a proud father watching Michael dance. That was beautiful to me. Lil Kim and Bobby Brown needed to take notes...
Talia Sproaps Lil' Kim always brought on other acts and she performed for free for up and comers so this comment didn't study Kim's history. She always pays homage.
Micky Lewis I never said that she didn't pay homage to anyone nor did I say she didn't help up and comers. What I said is that THEY need to learn how to not beef with EVERY artist that comes out and rivsls their success. That shows weakness and insecurities.
Talia Sproaps Well then expound further than Lil Kim and BB because Nas, Jay Z, P Diddy, ALL of hip hop is based on beef..it just didn't make sense in my eyes to only point out those two..sheesh even Pink, Christina Aguilera, plenty of others but only Lil Kim and BB were stated which was weird..oh and 50 cent is the top beefer with everyone..now that one would've made sense..Ok, I'm done playing musical chairs..carry on and enjoy the video.
James loved Michael. I mean, the man idolized him...and he knew about the video of six year old Michael doing the James Brown at Motown during their audition. But yeah, it's easy to be a jerk when you were a star as long as James Brown was. Instead, he was exactly what you said...proud. Proud of what that young man had become.
There has been nobody that controlled a band like this man. Every note, every beat, was exactly the precise moment he called it. I first saw JB at a very small club called The Echo Lounge in Brighton, Mass. back in 1967 and he was mesmerizing. I was but a shoe shine boy at the age of 12 that squirmed my way in off the street to see James sing and dance. He was truly infuckincredible~!
I'm a rock/indie/metal guy who appreciates good music, and let me tell you no matter what, these two guys right here are two gods of the music industry. My endless respect.
Jeffro Man I'm a country/rock/pop guy who appreciates good music also, I don't appreciate blues/r&b/jazz music, also James, Mike and Prince are the BEST.
I find it ironic that in 2003, they will share the stage again on an award show and James died like....almost three yrs later? Then Michael died 3 years after him.
It gets even weirder still...Aaliyah died on the 25th, as did Lisa ''lefteye'' Lopes, Tupac was 25 when he died and Biggie died in the second week of March (2) and was born in the fifth month (5) -25!!!.....scary shit!
Woah....such a powerful legendary moment in not just music but history in General! Just look how wild the audience goes the moment Michael and James meet, this type of stuff won't happen again not in my lifetime, yours or the next. Such talent those 2 are!
A track way before my time and a classic that will never age...A classic composed before I was brought into this world. This is what I call music with longevity.
This is something which makes my whole body shiver.. Lyrics, emotions, groove.. Pure definition of art , honestly i would put this performance as the best thing i have ever heard in my life :) Thank you James, thank you
I love how over the years the orchestra arrangement really grew.. I think this is one of JB's GREATEST songs. He was the hardest working man in show business.
It's incredible this video. The longer is even more incredible when JB also calls Prince on stage... now you talk about a stage full of talent. MJ Prince AND James Brown. It was truly amazing. I wish one more mothafucker would say MJ wasn't that great a singer. Just LISTEN!! a few words, and people melted right away...
And I mean, it's not like he prepped or anything. Just went up onstage after sitting in the audience and just blows it away. C'mon...the man was supernatural! Anyone who tries to deny that is just a damn fool.
Just reminds of the Old Baptist church when they called you out and up to the alter......these new age singers can't do that unless its Fantasia or Jenifer Hudson.
Que dupla genial!!! No sabia de este recital,de hecho no lo tenia a j.b. I fell good me gustaba de chica y no sabía de quién era.
Shoutout to the band!!! love how on they were with james brown this perfomance is legendary! 2 legends on one stage nice. legendaryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy love how.
+Ray Segura I won't argue against your opinion saying he sucks because that's how you personally feel but saying he can't sing is a just lying to yourself.
wow. so legendary. so much soul within these guys. is like music now is gone. no passion. just monetary motives. I hate it. I wish I lived in that Era. I was born 4 yrs after this great event
Oh hell, scream if you want to James, you taking me back. omg, and then when MJ went up there, he just put the icing on the cake. That's some talent on that stage.
Do y'all hear this mans band?! Like this music ! Muzik! And I'm a youngin! Much respect to the legends who made it all possible. Giants. Rest Well MJ & JB
Anyone else feel that beautiful and true music is slipping away as more and more singers from the past pass away? I know they just pave a way for new and upcoming talent, and some are quite talented, it's just the lyrics are....well all pretty similar and not very original. That aside, I just started laughing when Michael started doing those moves! lol Him and James Brown :)
Not only a Great singer & multi-instrumentalist musician but also a very educated person. The way he talks to the audience is simply unique. Top Class ♪ Thanks for sharing my friend.
