Some of Jackie’s dance move came from boxing. He was an amateur boxer when he was a teenager. The difference between JB and JW is JW had more discipline in his dancing, and so did MJ.
We dressed and clean our selves shine our shoes both men dressed well one for his people and the other was universal say it loud" I'm black and I m proud, James, there's no pity in the basket city , Jackie. Boy what happened to the dancers are showmen like that?' progress or de progress? Lyrics " Great. No profanity They were about loving the women And not hating them needing them not Dishonored to them.
They are both phenomenal, my personal favourite is JB, no one can compare. Having said that everyone wore suits back then, they were in style on and off stage, what were they supposed to dance in? There was now baggy jeans, sweatpants or trainers 👟
James Brown would've won hands down for his rhythmic feet movement and energy. But Jackie was so smooth and soulful his style was in a class by itself so they both would've tied for being best in originality.
You can see where Michael Jackson got his inspiration from. Brown and Wilson both amazing talents however, I will say James Brown because I grew up dancing to his music. They are both legends
I loved James Brown's music and he was an excellent dancer. However, when Jackie Wilson went on TV, he was not allowed to dance like he could at certain concerts or the Apollo Theatre. He was loved by the ladies and he was considered extremely taboo even more than Elvis during his time. His performances were either watered down or he had to let other people do most of the dancing to his songs on TV. He had a voice and he could dance, but you had to be at the right place to see it. Their styles were totally different. Jackie covered different genres of music. James was straight Soul. "Get Up Offa That Thing"😂
I'm a huge fan of both but James is untouched, unmatched. He had no peers during his time. James always gets an edge because he was so raw and made it work during a time when a lot of black music acts felt like they had to waterdown their sound and dance.
@@gabeeskridge8291 okay I didn't say he wasn't , but James is definitely more exciting to watch and MJ borrowed 75% from JB and 25% from Jackie, Sammy Davis Jr, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. ☺️
Pave the way for who? The half dozen men who tried to duplicate, or put their own flair on it? What are these once great people today? There's not even half a dozen who can dance, forget about singing the way the greats used to. Now all they do is mumble "rap" about horrendous things and commit soooo much crime. Truly sad.
@getsugaallen6612 Who is "you guys"? I'm a mexican woman, how can I be a predator to anyone?? Blacks used to be great, indeed, but look at what they are now and have been for decades. That's not a back handed compliment, it's the truth.
They should show Mr Excitement from Go Johnny Go Jackie had moves that nobody could touch James learned from Jackie Wilson and their styles were different JW in a class all by himself
They were both amazing very talented artists in their own right I loved them both may they both continue to rest in eternal peace gone too soon but never ever forgotten🥰🥰🥰💖💗💕💝💓💞
@@aidapalacios6855 Everybody has their preference and their opinion and at the end of the day that’s really just all it is. I personally don’t think he compares to Jackie Wilson but that’s just my opinion
I wish there was more concert footage of Jackie in his prime cause I always felt like he actually held back during his TV appearances. I could be wrong on that though and that was just his style. James definitely wins this battle regardless though.
Yes they were both great entertainers Jackie and James gave u your monies worth,,, I saw Jackie Wilson at the famous Apollo Theater when I was 10 yrs old for my birthday it was an Easter Sunday my dad took me,, Jackie was on fire
THESE TWO CAN NEVER BE COMPARED TO EACH OTHER. MR. JACKIE IS WHO HE IS. AND MR. JAMES IS WHO HE IS. BOTH ARE AMAZINGLY THE BEST OF THEIR TIMES. THEN COMES MR. MC.HAMMER. WHO WILL YOU COMPARE HIM TOO. NO ONE HE IS ALL BY HIMSELF JUST AS THOSE TWO WERE STANDING ALL ALONE.
Listen JB is the who ever did it .. Jackie don't have a chance with James Brown. Not taking anything from Jackie but he's to robotic, and James Brown style is powerful and to energetic he's just the best....
Jackie Wilson was one smoooothe brotha.james brown crowned himself and well desereved, but Jackies move were so flawles and slow motion smooth. James moved his feet like a barefoot crackhead in the Arizona heat but jay flowed like cool water, yessir!
These are two very talented men I love ❤️ them both I love the Godfather of soul and the soulful Jackie Wilson peace ✌️ and love ❤️ and soul ✌️ my brothers
James was a monster . Jackie just had the footwork. James full package. Dude did full routines singing at the top of his lungs and directing the band at one time
Both were great*. Jackie Had the Graceful Style. James was A Man of Many Talents. He Danced, played the Drums, and even played The Piano. Couldn't Man out Jam The God Father*. He Still lives on.!!!!!!🎉🎉💗💗
