James Buchanan: A Life Through Time (1791-1868) 

Buchanan was a very old president. He was 9years older than Fillmore and 13years older than Pierce. He was even older than Polk and only 1year younger than Tyler. And all of them were his former presidents!

Honestly, this was a cool video for probably the most unpopular president in American History.

Do-Nothing James Buchanan is arguably one of the worst presidents and accomplished very little as president. I’ll tell you why he’s the absolute worst president that I hate the most and should be considered a traitor in US History. 1. He managed to be extremely racist as Andrew Jackson was even by today’s standards 2. Did not want to be president 3. Blatantly violated the seperation of powers by constantly interfering with the Supreme Court in ruling out the Dred Scott Decision he supported, resulting in whether or not if the South determine to have slavery, stripped away rights from African Americans and broke the Democratic Party into two mutually divided factions 4. Did nothing to stop slavery 5. Did NOTHING to avoid the Civil War 6. Refused to take action in secession crisis 7. Did nothing to hold the country together 8. With every single screw ups he did, he immaturely angered the North and Abolitionists by blaming them for everything. 9. Opposing Stephen Douglas, Buchanan tried to block him from winning his seat back. 10. Had an investigation directed against him in which he and his administration got caught for illegally buying votes to accept Kansas as a slave state under the Constitution. This made him the second president after John Tyler to come under a serious impeachment investigation. 11. Send his troops to invade Utah, resulting in Buchanan’s Blunder to wipe out Mormons he hated for no good reason. 12. Vetoed the Homestead Act and Morril College Grant Act 13. Because of his passivity on slavery and secession, he caused the entire Civil War happened that led to serious political problems we are facing because of him. No need to explain in detail other than these corrupt actions ruined his own reputation and career. He did sign a trade treaty with China and gave his office to the man who is overhated and is rightfully regarded as one of the greatest US Presidents, Abraham Lincoln.
