Absolutely love James Caan, one of a kind. Icon. Santino was always my favourite in The Godfather the book and the movie. Also, Caan was underrated in the movie, most people talked about Pacino and Brando, yes they were great, but the thing about Godfather is, entire cast was brilliant, but Caan really shone in this role and many others, less known roles, but still great ones.

I ran into Mr. Caan once in a Plaid Pantry store outside of Washington DC. He'd just shot scenes with the Army there for Gardens of Stone. He was in a Hawaiian hibiscus shirt, driving a rental car. I tried to be cool and not bother him too much. Just said "Hello Mr. Caan" as held the door for him. He just smiled and said "Hi Bub". That was it. I always hoped that he appreciated being treated like a normal guy.

First time I saw Scott Caan was in *Enemy of the State*. He is a good actor too. But James Caan is a legend! I recently got the dvd of *Chapter Two* with Marsha Mason. First saw it in about 1983...rented it for a weekend & watched it with my daughter. I cried whenever he died in movies...*Brians’s Song* & *The Godfather*.😢 & I nearly cried when I missed seeing him at the Denver Livestock Show in January ?1986. Went out shopping with a friend as it was the one year Robert Redford wasn’t there. Caan rode in a roping horse event, I think. My other friend that was there showing horses couldn’t wait to tell me I had missed James Caan roping! (But Denver had great shops & restaurants!)🥀

Larry King is a total fossil. James Caan on the other hand is a living legend and one of the most underrated actors. His movies from the 70's are especially awesome and people need to see his other work besides The Godfather.

Top 15 best actors I ever watched

I loved The Godfather and still is my fav movie of all time. Have seen it a million times and each time I see something else that grabs my attention. I recently read it stereotyped Italians but I disagree with that premise. I've never thought of Italians as criminals based on what I've seen in that movie or for any other reason. I just learned Scott Caan is Jimmy's son. That show is one of those shows I watch while having dinner or messing with my cellphone without paying too much attention to it so yes, I recognize the faces but not their names.

James Caan movie Thief was the prelude to movies like Taken, Taken 2, Taken 3 etc. Much like Death Wish series, best version of John Waynes El Dorado "copy" Rio Bravo almost the same script. Not to mention Godfather prelude to the Sopranos. A Actor and love this dude very much...
