I HAVE lied about my age and more recently, I HAVE been manipulated by adult men. Neither person is in the right in this situation. I can tell you 100% that I knew lying about my age to a 16 year old at 13 was WRONG. Do not act like teenagers are incompetent. I am absolutely not defending James. The James situation aside, I think it's wrong when minors talk to older people and claim they're 18+ when they're not. I'm not victim shaming or blaming. I think that if you want to be in an older relationship / talk to older people, you should wait. There's people who purposely lie about their age to get money (from lawsuits) or put people in prison. I don't want this to be taken as a negative way because trust me, I love and support everyone and everything, but I've just always felt weird about how someone could purposely do that to someone. And I also understand that their brain is not fully developed and that they probably do not understand what they're doing is wrong, but there is some point in life where you know that if you bait older people and claim you're above the age you actually are, you know what you're doing. Is there any law that prevents this?
There isn't any laws preventing or giving minors consequences for lying about their age in adult spaces. Minors have been accessing dating/hookup apps and lying about their age. Even if their accounts get deleted, they make new ones. This is a very prominent and difficult issue that needs to be solved.

I read once that when people get super famous super young they stop emotionally maturing past the age that they got famous. I’m sorry but people who are saying that the person is 16, and them not knowing what they’re doing is beyond me. Personally, at 16 I knew right from wrong and I wouldn’t be trying to speak to someone even on a friendly level that was 18 and over because it doesn’t look right and because of the consequences that came along with it. Now I’m not trying to say James shouldn’t be held accountable (which he should,) but I feel as though both parties should be held accountable.
